Filtering out live stream

Why did the word live-stream (together) get censored out?

People spamming fake live-stream links will just use other fake domains and hyperlink another link under it anyway.

I don't see a point in this and I can no longer post my own live-stream link.

I now have to use this shady looking url shortener >.>
(Most url shorteners are blocked out by sythe aswell)

I agree, there are many ways around this which people will simply do, and it is a bit of an inconvenience to those who actually do **********.

i don't see why it's removed ethier, kina uses live stream all the time. block it b/c a certain group uses it for the wrong thing doesn't seem fair.

I agree. I don't see the point in it. When I see shortened links like the one above, I do not bother clicking as I can't risk a virus in this computer. I know, you're trusted and all but sometimes the trusted person might have got hacked by a hacker who posted that.

 

Just remember this:

A live-stream does not ever load a java applet.

A java driveby does.

If you get asked to run a java applet, it's most likely a java driveby. If not, it's legit.

 

I've still been wanting to view your lives-stream, I'm just never on when you're hosting it >.<. But yeah I support this, live-stream links look better then the one just un dude has posted.

Also, whats to not block all links such as youtube? Someone could just change their link to 'youtube.com/watch23131123' then it be linked to a fake utube phishing site or one with a java applet. I don't think legit people should be punished for what newcomers will always do, and can easily find ways around it.

 

Well you've got to keep in mind that's not really in their hands. I mean, what they do to the forum affects us all, but I guess it is possible to make it so that only a certain group of users can't post streams, etc.

I support. I am always roaming around, sometimes watching some streams and almost comfortable clicking on links that contain the "**********.com" stuff in it, but hesitant to click on shortened links now. Hopefully they can fix this and not have newcomer faggots spoil it for everyone.

 

Yah.. back in the spam forum craze I never understood the censorship either.
Everyone just put a dash in or shortened the url
