450 TH Keys

So, I won a sports bet today and decided, what the hell, let's see if TH keys are any good when bought. The bet was a hundred dollar wager, so perfect, because 450 Keys costs 100 dollars.

I was incredibly lucky, to say the least, with my 2 purple prizes being a 200M cash stack and a lucky armadyl helmet (cashed out for near 2M). The 200m itself nearly pays for the keys.

Bonus xp was roughly 4 million spread throughout, this would have been considerably higher if I used it in skills that were higher levels (80-90s). I mostly used bxp on Slayer (to get 99 faster) and Summoning (save myself a lot of charms needing to be collected). Ended with 1.1m bxp in Slayer, and 500k in summoning. Sprinkle in anywhere from 1k-200k bxp in my other skills.

With the genie bonus (read on front page to see how those worked) I usually cashed out in gp (usually got around 300k per cash out).

Total cash made aside from the 200m and armadyl helmet, about 18m (Magic notepaper, dragon bones, dragonhides, genie cashouts, herbs, seeds etc).

I also got a couple of slayer masks, and silverhawk boots. After selling all my random items, here is what I got:




Was it worth it: Honestly, because I got 200m as one of my rare prizes, it was EASILY worth it. However, if we realistically discount the 200M win, it makes it a lot more modest.

Conclusion: If skills 80-90, you could easily get 8M bxp from 450 keys. 450 keys definitely not worth it if you are maxed. 450 keys is probably a bit overkill. I would reccommend getting the 200 keys for half the price, as you save money but also get a good chunk of xp (and who knows, maybe 200M cash!)

Am I happy with this purchase instead of 100 dollars I'd won in bet: Yes, ultimately it will save me a bit of grinding, and 200M win also makes it worth it.

Will I ever buy TH keys again: I don't think so. It was a cool little one time experience, but 100 dollars is a lot of money and I'd never be willing to spend personally owned money for RS stuff aside from the basic membership fee. I just thought winning this bet would enable me a good chance to see it in action, and to give people an idea of what it does, if they were ever on the fence about buying keys.

Wow you made 200M cash back from it? That's insane, most other threads/vids I've seen of this don't show the same results. People usually end up losing money so I guess you got a lucky batch.

 

Agreed. Usually it's shitty cash but, people usually only do it for xp. I heard it's insane xp. Pretty much buying powerleveling.

 

Agree completely, it was an anomaly of a batch. Very lucky. Without the 200m, it hardly justifies the 100 dollar price tag.

People should be vigilant of Jagex offering double keys. I think 900 keys at 100 dollars is a lot better of a chance to not only win 200M, but to get easily over 10M bonus xp, if not closer to 20 if the skills are already high.

It was a fun experience though, like opening 450 christmas presents. I would definitely only recommend the 200 key batch, if anything at all.

But I may keep my eye out on future double key offers, 400 for 50 dollars wouldn't be too shabby at all, especially if you can snag 200m, which takes luck, but is possible.

In other news, my brother won 200M today, with just his normal 2 keys a day.

Either we are the luckiest RS players on earth, or they made purple rewards easier to get.

 

200m is so freakin lucky XD I heard other people normally get more than 8M bxp tho. Approximately how much of that bxp do you think was "free will"?

 

You'd definitely get more than 8m bxp if you used it in higher stats. You get more bxp the higher your lvl is. I used a lot of my stars on only relatively high (70's) stats for most, so I didn't get as much bxp as possible.

In terms of free will XP, I'd say 80 percent of it was free will.

Dude I honestly think they made purple prizes easier to get man. My brother got 200M yesterday as well, on one of his NORMAL daily spins.

I got 2 purples in 450 keys.

It may be luck, of course, but I think they did make purple prizes easier to get.

 

Thats crazy. The fact that you got the 200m almost pays for the whole thing, then you got the misc other rewards.

I wouldn't do it, and I don't recommend you do it again as I would wager this is an anomaly!
