Just wondering how many other Breaking Bad fans we have here on Sythe? Personally, I am a huge fan of the show and after catching up with last night's episode tonight I just thought I would create a thread with a discussion on this incredible show! Just over a year ago I began watching breaking bad, after hearing tons of people repeatedly tell me about this amazing show playing on AMC that I just had to check out, and that would be right up my alley. I finally looked into it and watched Season 1 Episode 1 online and that was it... I was hooked right from the beginning. I was soon watching up to 4 or 5 consecutive episodes per night until I was finally caught up to Season 3 on TV. After the crazy cliffhanger ending of last season and having to wait around around a YEAR for Season 4 to start, I was really hoping the show would be as good as the first few seasons. I did not know what to expect. Well to make a long story short, Season 4 is fucking awesome and by far my favourite so far. I am blown away every week with the incredible twists and situations the writers manage to think up, and by how closely connected everything is becomming. If you do not watch this show I would SERIOUSLY reccomend watching it!
For those who don't know - Breaking Bad is a show about a highschool chemistry teacher named Walter White. Walter is an absolute genius when it comes to chemistry, yet is trapped in his job as an under-achieving, under-appreciated master chemist, has a handicapped son, and is basically beginning to suffer from a mid-life crisis with the dissatisfaction he feels in his life. Out of the blue, Walter is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and is told that he has very little time left to live. This sends Walter over the edge and he begins to cook methamphetamine with one of his old highschool students in order to secure his families financial future after he is gone. But he is soon in far over his head and ends up becomming basically the methamphetamine kingpin of New Mexico, working for the biggest meth manufacturing operation in the area, while getting himself into all sorts of trouble and sticky situations. To top it off, his brother in law is the head of the DEA outfit that specifically targets and investigates major meth operations in the area. The show has some fantastic characters, incredibly intense situations, brutal violent scenes, and does a great job at portraying a desperate mans descent into organized crime, and all the moral dilemmas that accompany the transformation he undergoes while struggling to provide for his family when faced with the prospect of his certain death.
This is by far my favourite show on TV at the moment and I can hardly wait the week out between episodes. If you haven't seen it yet and want a great new show to start watching, I would suggest you start from Season 1 and stream the episodes online.
