Name changes

I couldn't even get the "s" from my name capitalized like you did, Punjabi3.

I'd love to see an administrator addressing the name changing rules... and then everyone following them.

But really, can I get my name to just Young Money?

 

You can't get S capitalized even though you are a $50 donator but 2 $5 can?

We need an official rule on the by the admins. We'll accept P_anic-->Ricky as a miscommunication between admins, but if a rule isn't laid clearly out any further changes, or lack there of, will appear to be out of favoritism, or lack there of.

 

I think you should be able to pay for a name change eg. $20 and you can change up to 3 letters or numbers, $50 and you can change the whole name or something like that.

 

Yeah there really should be a word or a guide at least officially from an admin about name changes. I do understand why Sythe.org is extremely strict with name changes because of the huge confusion and also dealing with vouches and stuff like that.
Most of the time though there is a guide/sticky on name changes. I am fine with my name but there are many others who are really curious of how this really works. High donators really should have the upper hand on this.

Hopefully this will clear a few things up:

The Panic < Ricky situation has left a few questions which will hopefully be addressed by an admin here later on. But for now, hopefully what is above will suffice.

I think donating a little more could get me change to Tux... or only if I become staff? So many questions that we have...

 

I personally think that any $200 + donor requesting a capitalization in their name should be automatically granted.

Why? The $200 donor perk is a User Image. Some people have a fully capitalized username in their images like myself. This goes to show that there isn't really too big a difference in in capitalizing certain letters in a name, after all the only difference is when quoting someone, and when seeing the most recent post from the index.

As for the other issues, it is obvious mild favoritism goes on, so what? If an admin favors someone slightly more, they are much more likely to grant them a minor request. Panic > Ricky was an exceptional circumstance, however, the other recent ones are very minor. As of yet, no declarative ruling has been explicitly made regarding these issues and at present a case-by-case basis seems to be the general consensus between the admins. In all honesty, I think a $300 or $500 perk should grant the possibility of an entire name change. Let's be serious, how many $300+ donors are there, and how many would want to change their name?

 

Actually, it doesn't really. As seen by this thread, the community doesn't want a pending decision, we want a decisive, immediate decision. The staff, admins especially, need to make a final decision on this ASAP. Especially as Panic got a full name change when mods/ex-mods can't even.
