OK, so before I begin I'll start off by saying that it has taken me a while to decide if I should post this here or not. It's recently really started bugging me so I decided I might aswell.

Basically I'm 15 years old, turning 16 in a month or so. I have no problem getting girls to be completely honest, my problem is this:

I start flirting with a good looking girl or whatever, we text a lot for a good couple weeks and then get into a relationship, for the first two weeks I'm madly in love with this girl and the next week I just don't feel any affection for her whatsoever.. I know it sounds really fuckin weird but basically yeah..

Why can't I settle down with one girl for a decently long period of time? I have a lot of friends that are starting to hit their one anniversaries with their girlfriend while I can't stay with one for a month..

Also, it's not a problem of not seeing her, I would see this girl usually every Friday/Saturday/Sunday and hang out or whatever, and its not that I don't get any either.

So your probably asking yourself if you read this why the hell do you think this is a problem? (That is, if you managed to get through all of this) Well, looking into the future when I'm 25 years old I have no idea how I could possibly get a wife that I would actually want to hold onto. I really don't want to be that guy who is 38 and has had 7 divorces.

Basically what I'm asking is, how can I make it so the love I feel in the first couple weeks of our relationship can stay for a longer period of time?

Anyway, if you managed to read this all thanks for your time.

I swear I feel the exact same way when I'm with a girl for more than a week. Don't really know what to do either :(

You can do nothing but to stop loving if you will. There is nothing we can tell you to do, it's what your heart tells you. For something that has to do with love, listen to your heart.. You have to have fun with that girl, hang out, catch a movies, go to the mall. If nothing works out your not going to have any option, your just going to continue to switch girls.

This would be what I'd call a 'faddish lust'.

What fuels a relationship initially is discovery, and the unknown. If you told a girl EVERYTHING ABOUT YOURSELF, she would eventually lose interest in you, as she knows everything. This surprisingly is what causes lots of people to lose interest in each other

Another possibility is maybe more to do with yourself, on a genetic level. Maybe your body is holding out to the right one. You should know, that love is extremely complex and science cannot actually prove it exists, so for you to try to generate love forcibly isn't really going to do you much good.

Remember, your 15. You shouldn't really need to be thinking about long term relationships now.

If your only criteria for a girlfriend is their looks and popularity, expect to encounter shallow bitch after shallow bitch.

That's the thing.. I'm not dating girls just based on their looks and popularity.. My last girlfriend had basically every interest that I have: Golf, skiing, etc. and had a good head on her shoulders and the same thing still happened :/

Thanks for the advice guys.

I'm curious; what do you feel when you watch romantic movies and stuff?

Cannot prove, can disprove.
Impossible to disprove the existence of an emotion.

Remember, your only 15. Any so called 'love' you experience at that age is colloquially called 'puppy love'. Don't stress too much about the issue, just let girlfriends come and go until you find one you can truly stick with.

Don't let it get you down. I've been in a relationship problem like yours but I found the person I want and I've been with them for a year. I wasn't finding the right people, that's the point of dating is to find the right person. Don't worry about it too much.. be happy you can get girls, there's nothing wrong with you. :)

Is love something you are looking for?

If I were you I would get to know a girl for a long time then if you decide you want to date go for it! But yeah, being friends for awhile will let you know how much you rally like her.

fugg 'em and leave 'em, that's what i do

That is not what you do, who are you trying to impress?

Anyway i'd just quit looking for awhile, eventually you'll come across the one you feel you can connect with for more than short-term.

Agreed. You're a bit of a comedian I see with the "that is not what you do, who are you trying to impress?" that was pure gold. :p anyway, everyone has someone out there for them.

Maybe chasing girls entertains him? I must say though, my little sister leads guys into asking her out then just flat out tells them no and never talks to them again. But she has a more extreme case then the author.

There's nothing wrong with you. The fact is, you're a teenage boy. It's in our nature. Our hormones are running wild, and our hearts are in tow. In a few years, your hormones will stabilize and your heart will be able to remain in one place. It's completely natural for your feelings to jump around between girls as a teenager, that's one of the reasons adults sometimes recommend not to date so young. My best advice is, just sit it out. If it really begins to concern you (if you feel like you're hurting people etc.), you can consult your parents or an adult you really respect.

Alright guys, sorry for not responding for like a week, been REALLY busy with school and another girl now... I'll respond to some stuff now.

I'm curious; what do you feel when you watch romantic movies and stuff?

Umm kind of indifferent? I don't really watch many romantic movies simply because they aren't my type, but I really don't feel anything when watching them.

Have you ever tried taking a "break" from dating girls for a while?

Yeah, I probably went on a 4-5 month break from girls back in grade nine around this time.

Funny you mention that movie, I saw it around a week a go with my sister, don't really understand how it has my answers :p
