Horrible Sythe servers!

Even after the many donations from hundreds of members, the servers still suck epicly. After one minute of browsing on sythe, the server goes down and it says page cannot be loaded etc... or fatal error.

This ONLY happens with sythe, and im 100% sure its a problem with sythe.

Why can't you fix this? Ive seen young kids with better servers.

 

Use google gears, if you are using chrome u already have it.

To fix this problem:
Require membership to view any threads? (except dispute forum)

 

1. Young kids with small sites don't get DDoSed
2. Do you even know what hardware does Sythe own?
3. Do you have any idea AT ALL how to manage a site's hosting?
4. Even with many donations and ads, the hosting structure does not hold to the real needs.
5. You are not a donator, so don't come here with you hands cleaned.
6. There's another thread in this section, it includes a post from the owner.

If you don't like it, you are free to live with it or leave Sythe.

 

You somehow think because you donated you somehow have more of a right to voice your opinion or thoughts? Sorry to break it to you, but you don't, so get over yourself.

Secondly, you act as if the donations and everything that goes toward this site actually goes toward it. Again, sorry to break it to you, but none of the donations do. Advertising pays for the server(s). You honestly think the hundreds of dollars donated every month, if not more goes in to improving the site? LOL, that's a good one mate.

This is a business, like any other. Do you honestly think Richard would keep this site running if he didn't make a substantial amount of money off of it? No, he wouldn't, but since he is making money, this site still exists.

Lastly, I love how everyone's response to someone's feedback is get over it, or the old, you don't have to be a member here if you don't want to be. Why the hell is there a feedback forum if the only solution ever offered to a problem is to get over it?

 

I agree no matter what the argument is the servers are shit. They dont even stay up for more then 20 minutes at a time lately. Either there is too many connections or some script kids are dsng the server. That doesnt change the fact that he can use some of the money for a better server and maybe instead of letting the site get ripped up by script kiddies maybe migrate the server when that happens.

And black tux get off your high horse. The dont feel high and mighty because you donated Cheetos money.

 

There ARE ways to avoid the catastrophic failure that the servers have been putting out lately, it's just a matter of getting the time to do it. For a site so big, I personally think that we should have one person always ready to do the job tech-wise. Matt and Sythe are just not readily available 24/7.

As for the cash, I'm pretty sure most of it goes directly into Matthew and Sythe's pockets instead of towards the site, or else we'd be in a far better state.
