Paypal charge backs

FULL SUPPORT. I am getting sick and tired of using paypal now. Majority of rsgp buyers, chargeback.

Didn't read through thread.. Sorry if I'm restating anything..

Anyway, this sounds like a great idea, but sadly; I disagree. Ok, this database would be good, someone simply uses the search feature and see if that specific address has charged back before. Good in theory, in actuality, no.

Problems?
Keeping up with the list. It would be mods only (in that specific section) and Globals. Allowing everyone to edit it could lead to it being deleted entirely. Saying that, very time consuming and mods should be putting their efforts in other things - scam reports - that need attention.
As well, it's SO easy to change your PayPal email. All you do is press "change to primary" and click the link they send you in an email. All the work would be in vain, or at least a strong majority of it.

The idea is good. But if a scammer enters "THE list", he will most likely change his paypal adress.

i Agree with this, so much charge back's going on recently as its quite easy to do.

A majority of the chargebacks / unauthorized access claims are from stolen paypal accounts. These won't be used again since they obviously did not belong to the scammer in the first place. Once the chargeback / unauthorized claim is in process, the scammer has already lost control of the paypal account.

On top of that if the scammer is using his own paypal, then he could easily change the paypal email address.

A scammer's paypal address would be added after they are through scamming and have been banned. The list would probably be full of unique paypal email addresses that will never be used to scam again.

Sure if the moderators had unlimited time to improve every little aspect of sythe then this suggestion would be alright. As it stands though, moderators don't have unlimited time and their efforts would be better spent elsewhere.

I would support this idea if there was some solution to the fact that: Most people that chargeback use a hacked paypal account or they will change their email constantly. Due to this, your suggestion is basically obsolete. Possibly involving the MSN of the scammers is the only thing I can think of, but other then that I see no point of having to maintain a list of a bunch of emails that would almost never help. There is a ton of work to be done already there is need to update and maintain a list which won't prevent scammers from taking 2 minutes to change an email.

Basically people just need to only accept paypal when they know they can absolutely trust the user because the biggest problem on sythe now is that so many people are charging back payments. People just need to see the warning signs (new comers looking to pay way overpriced, sketchy, etc.) or move to different payment methods.

 

It's a decent idea, but too time consuming.
