No, you can't. That's the whole point of it, my mate was trying to hack someone (by befriending them first), and they absolutely swore that they gave him the right password, and he assumed that the username was just ghost 2935 or w/e it was, but it was *ghost 2935*, and it wouldn't let him log in.

When you're making an account, instead of saying you want it's name to be joe 999, you say you want it to be *joe 999*, then, you go to the login screen, type *joe 999* and the password and shit, then, when you're ingame, to other people, you appear as merely joe 999, no stars, but you MUST use them when logging in.

umm... its not working for me... I tried just like you said but it says username has already been used and im pretty sure it hasn't...

 

Hey I tried putting stars in front of my normal account and logged in and it worked... so i dun think the stars do anythin..

 

I think i kind of get what his trying to say, So you have to make a new account with *Namehere* then when you log in you need the * *... If so, I still dont believe it will work but worth a try.

 

ima explain.... make a new account, but instead of making the name just regularly like i staple i you would add the stars like this *i staple i* (this is when making the account) then if you try to log in without the stars it will not log in. theres not really any use for this that i can see.

EDIT: it doesnt work anyway because i created an account with the stars and it can log in without the stars.

 

thank goodness it doesnt work otherwise future account sellers could scam more.

 

I think what he is trying to say...Is that if you enter a new account as "*Billy123*", you cant log on without the stars or else you will get it incorrect according to jagex...And basically...He is saying that it prevents people who know your password from logging on...

But it definitely did when my mate tried to hack some kid, and he had to ask the kid what was wrong, and yeah, the kid told him and it worked, so it DID work at some point...

sigh, this was patched about a year ago, how did u find out about it? and every account i know of with the *'s were deleted.so if u have an acc with lets say an example, *tehnoob*, if some1 makes tehnoob, you'll get deleted. but you cant make any more accounts with the *'s.. its like - now. so its like putting -zezima-, wont work anymore..

uhm, didnt any1 but jake actually read what i wrote? lol.. and this wasnt used to get accounts unhackable. it was to hack/trick ppl. so yea lol....

 

Yeah, well, I found out because a friend was trying to hack someone, and he couldn't, so yeah, the account was unhackable
