10 minutes = provide a day of water

Basically, keep the app open for 10 minutes and their sponsors donate the $ equiv. of a day's water. Works awesome if you keep your phone on charge overnight or whatever.

Doing this with my phone, and convinced some people IRL to do this as well. I'd recommend doing this for sure. After all it's free, why not?

Very cool man, I can get down on this. trying it now actually, I'll make it so my phone doesn't auto lock and leave it open all night while I sleep!

It's an awesome app, creates reasons to put down our phones and pay attention to the world around us; and provides water to people in need.

Btw, i have a quick suggestion, the admins (or whoever creates miniranks) should make a minirank for this to promote the app further.

At first I was thinking, 'Why are they doing this?' I thought maybe it had something to do with the fact if you don't touch your phone for 10 minutes, you're using less energy and in return that amount of electricity would be enough to provide a day of water or something.

Anyways, this is still pretty cool. I'll bet the money they make from this app if enough people use it, they'll be able to earn some profit as well.

 

No offense but I hate things like this. They have money to donate, they get their tax deduction, why do we have to stand on our heads and do jumping jacks in order for them to donate it? Obviously it brings some attention to their charity but bleh. In my opinion if you're going to donate something just do it.

I find it odd when people do the same here. They have $50 to donate, but instead of just donating it they make a "post here and I will donate $0.05" thread. Do they find that amusing or...?

See now this is something I could get in on. Straight up, buy our product and a portion over our guaranteed donation goes to charity.

 

People have these sorts of things on their blogs etc and offer promotions if people stay on the ads for 10 minutes. So it's a way of UNICEF to get money out of these advertisers. The advertisers aren't necessarily pledging to UNICEF.
