That is a different story all together then. The post above me suggest a folder (/) not a sub domain. For that reason I was just informing the user that it would still slow down the "main site" as it would still be hosted on the same server.

I'd like to see the idea made possible but I'm not sure how practical it is.

    Regard,
    Vergil

Maybe this could be a donor perk? We already had a buddy list at one time.

Would you guys need some extra donations for money because you're paying for a whole new server?

Good idea, the only flaw would be that a lot of the time there are over 200 people online. Nonetheless, I support

It wouldn't lag the server, it just wouldn't be easy to implement.

why just make it a donor perk and then more people will donate to use it . Plus it would make trades easyer so that the logs can be saved onto a internal database .

We really appreciate you posting suggestions here enthusiastically, but, as I remind the staff frequently, there is a line between the realistic and idealistic. For such a feature to be implemented, it would require a VBulletin mod (I highly doubt such a mod exists) or it would have to be coded from scratch by Matthew or Sythe. Such a project would be highly time consuming and, frankly, there isn't time for such a thing to be coded. There's also a possibility that it wouldn't even be able to be coded -- it would be highly complex.

    To sum up:

1.) Wouldn't it be nice if we could implement a magic feature which stops people from scamming? Yes. Why don't we? Because coding such a feature would be impossible or excruciatingly difficult.

2.) When suggesting something, it's easy to get carried away and become idealistic. The suggestion isn't practical due to its nature -- it would involve masses of time, would require an external VBulletin modification or someone to code it. A practical suggestion would, for example, be to make donators' usernames pink, as this can be done within VBulletin and wouldn't require modification or new coding.

3.) The suggestion isn't too bad (idealistically), but, at the end of the day, it would potentially reduce the number of posts made on the forum (this is a forum, after all) and would be a feature likely to be the target of exploitation. Many things are flawed.

I've started working on a Sythe IM plugin for SytheClient.
