GF my maxed/completionist account

I was banned for botting in December 2012. I submitted an appeal but I knew it would take forever for them to view it, so I decided I would email them. It's official now. This was Jagex's response:

tl;dr: Don't bot on an account that is valuable to you--its just not worth it.

Like I'm ever going to make another account from scratch as Mod Pheby suggests I do...Those were some of the best (and worst) 8 years of my life though. I'm just happy I achieved the goal I've been dreaming of ever since the first day I played, which was maxing and beating the game.

I just thought I'd try to warn you guys so the same thing doesn't end up happening to you =)

Some pretty bad luck, did you get banned in the Idung bannings or something? I've been working on max cape and have yet to receive a ban.

Also, what's their email for issues such as this?

I botted pretty much every skill, but the one of the few skills I did't bot was dung. Just be careful haha and if you must bot, limit the amount of hours you run it for.

Also I just emailed them at [email protected]. They responded in 4 days--much faster than the standard appeal process they have people use.

That's unfortunate, but you did this at your own risk so it's a lesson learned right? Glad you met your goals though, time wasn't completely wasted. Now you can move on and concentrate on something more productive ^^

 

Why would anyone bot on their main that they've worked on for years? Bit of a silly decision don't you think? Comp accs always get checked.

 

I had been botting on/off my main for at least 2.5 years--nothing happened. It's not like I recently started to bot on it. And I don't think your last statement is true. I know many people who bot Cwars/MA on their comp accs. Nothing has happened. Yet.

 

I'd do it again if I could.

 

I don't have any sympathy for you, you were fully aware that botting was against the rules but you continued doing it. I play legit and also maxed, my problem with botters is that they become pathological liars and cannot be honest to any of their friends and just make up fantasy stories about how they trained or worked hard.. It's absurd.
