Price of gold.

My theory is that since dicing is gone now, people won't have the need to buy as much gold as before. On the other hand people might still buy lots because they are getting into staking. Not sure... thoughts?

 

There's still as much gold in the economy, Trading it from player to player shouldn't effect gold prices. A lot of dicers will go to staking anyway.

 

All the truly addicted dicers will come on sythe looking to rent out maxed mains to box with. People are still going to be looking for that quick fix of making money.

 

Dice hosts sold huge amounts of gold to people; most of the big clans were simply fronts for large RWT operations, since a host could consistently make money. Staking will become far more popular (replacing dicing) but without one party consistently winning there will only be a few major consistent winners (those who bug abuse or get lucky). The rest will gain and lose money randomly, causing them to buy more gold if they lose, but without long term consistent winners there won't be many major suppliers.

TL;DR: Staking hosts sold huge amounts of gold, now that they're gone (along with bots) gold supplies will drop even further. Demand for gold won't be influenced much, as people will move to staking. Expect prices to rise significantly.

 

Wait.. what happened to dicing? Can someone fill me in please, I'm pretty out the loop with Runescape since the bot nuke.

 

It won't effect it too much to be honest. Gold sales may take a small hit but it won't be major. Don't expect to see the prices fall any.

 

Dices have been disabled in game, therefore they can't be rolled anymore. The item Dice Bags/Dice itself are soon to be removed as well. Aka, dicing is no more.

 

Yeah I doubt that the end of dicing will change the economy. Maybe for about a week while all of the big clans are breaking up/moving to a new form of gambling. However, there is always going to be staking and I guarantee there will be new types of gambling that emerge. I don't think it will effect the price of gold, if gold is going up it is due to gold farming bots being down...

The decline in bot numbers means that everything in game should go up in gold value, and gold should go up in price. It's taking a little while for that to happen but it should play out that way. Unless of course bots return.

Gp will stay the same. There are other means of gambling .. dicing was just the most used.

 

Dicing funneled massive amounts of money into the hands of RWTers

 

Now that dicing is gone, the majority will move to staking... and there will be more new staking guides and ideas as more people flourish in that special area.

 

Can people still do flowers? As long as there is a way of randomizing something, gambling will happen.

 

Less demand but a lot less stable sellers that have a large stock. I doubt the price will change much.

 

Jagex will probably find a way to "nerf" it. Just like they did with the skull.

 

It is removed out of the game.
