Denying the use of an OMM

I have seen threads when people have gotten slapped with a TWC because of the simple fact that they did not want to use OMM/MM's. Personally, I ask myself why? There have been highly trusted members and offical middlemen who have scammed/consipired to scam money from other sythe members, While I agree it may be fishy to deny the use of one, Simply dont trade the person if they dont choose to want to use an OMM/MM.

To elaborate further on members who have scammed/conspired to.

Vietballer (OMM Banned for scamming)
G-UNOT (Trusted member who scammed for large amount of money)
Nate (One of the most trusted members of sythe)
Feren Silver (OMM consipiring to scam billions of geepees)

I think it is more than fair that a person should have the right to deny the use of a OMM without consequences.

 

N4 and Wulf didn't scam when they had omm rank or high trust so that's irrelevant. I agree denying the use of an mm shouldn't warrant an auto twc but if the guy is 3 post count and buying/selling amounts from 1-100m then fuck em. A respectable member won't receive a twc for not wanting a mm (since they may be looking to build trust on their own merits), so it shouldn't be a major problem.

 

i agree then also disagree because omm's arent all that bad but i agree cause if you are paying money for there service why would you want to get scammed 5$ or what ever they charge and also get scammed the stuff your tradeing. and your wrong
those peopel who got twc were probibly on a highly serious topic and such as example: someone selling a way to dupelcate items. if they charge 200m and choose not to go first and the guide is unverified? exactly

 

I def agree on this, denying of OMM should be a personal trade with caution, thats about it.

 

Pretty much this , You see a lot of kids on the market that has less then 5 post count not wanting to use a OMM/MM

 

To my knowledge, nobody has been TwC'd just for refusing a OMM. There's usually something else to it, such as agreeing to use a MM and then leaving/making excuses when the OMM is added.

 

Although I do not disapprove, however even in that type of situation, a TWC should be the last thing issued.

In my opinion, an infration(s) could be a more viable option in similar situation as those.

OT: I too have never heard of a user receiving a TWC due to denying the use of an OMM/MM.

However if that has happened before, I definitely agree that it should not.

 

I don't like using OMM's, simply because of the fee's. I'd rather pick a respectable fellow either going for the status of OMM, or that I know/trust.

The first ever OMM I used was Vietballer back in 2007, and he was disinterested and lazy as I recall.

 

The thing is that it is always very obvious that they are going to scam. They usually say something like: "I've been scammed 6,000,000 times all by VMM/OMMs and I am not going to use another OMM to see these 3 phat sets you don't get to see before you buy them."

That is when they get a TWC, because it is obvious.

 

Not everyone are nice people and it's better to give them twc rather than let them scam. If they are in fact legit they can appeal the twc.

 

Honestly, I trust some of the MM's more than the OMMs out there.

I would trust Punkerpunk, The Black Tux, and others with my bank lmao.

The OMM fees kill you and it's just not worth it especially with PayPals ridicule fees

 

if someone does not wish to use a OMM then it is up to them but it should raise an alarm as to why not unless they are super trusted

Unless you are a scammer, I see no reason to deny the use of an OMM.

 

Me personally do not trust OMM's Because they could get away with it so easily even if they did scam, I Just try to deal with trades on my own, But I do agree with what you are saying about the TWC.

If you deny the use of an MM right away it's not punishable.

I myself have never used an MM in the 6,5 years I've been here.
If the person I was trading with suggested it, I told them no.

Surely I was thought to be a scammer at the beginning though, but I was never punished for it.

 

A TwC is issued when someone is acting suspiciously, which if you ask me, what I listed IS suspicious activity and you SHOULD exercise caution when trading with that person.

 

Personally I think that it's suspicious as well.

Most of this (from my experiences) comes from sellers that "don't want to give x sum of money to a random person"
This ideology is both immature and selfish, as this puts the buyer in the position that the seller doesn't want to be in.

An OMM is fair to both parties, and I'd like to add that as such both parties should ALWAYS split the fees.

 

I guess if I ask for an OMM I usually suggest Corey or N4N0 or Firez which are all mods so I don't see why someone would deny it if they don't have to pay a fee.
