how to tell my friend i have a gf

first of all bare with me my native language isn't english

so basically my best friend doesn't know about my new gf and we see each other alot in university but i can't talk to her much because of him .

i have been hiding it for about 2 months " me and my gf have been on and off for a while but now we are officially together" my mistake i didn't tell him when it started if i tell him now he will be really angry for not telling him because he tells me every detail in his life.

you may ask why didn't i tell him because each time I say something to my friends about a girl nothing happens and i said this time i won't tell anyone untill things becomes real


me and my gf said we will hang more together he will notice and tell him after 1-2 weeks we are dating now

but the problem he called today asking me he wants to tell a girl he met 3 months ago he likes her i told him go for it but he said he thinks it's too early!!!
so i am pretty much fucked he is a good friend i don't want to lose him but me and my gf aren't talking to each other face to face alot because of him


so what to do ?


update: told him i like her and we are just talking now nothing serious and after 2 weeks going to tell him she is my gf i asked her out ,,,
his reaction: yeah maybe go for it she is a nice cute girl

so everything went better than expected

Just tell him that.
If he is your friend why would he care that you didn't tell him?

If my friends kept it a secret that they had a girlfriend and then they told me, my exact response would be "oh, well done." he isn't going to stop being your friend over that.

 

You probably shouldn't hide the fact you have a girlfriend to your best friend, after all he is your best friend. You are dating someone and have a life outside of him. He wants to get a girlfriend and told you he was thinking about asking someone out, so why shouldn't you be able to tell him that you already have a girlfriend? Tell him you just made it offical and were seeing eachother for a while. At first he might be kind of like what the hell? But in one of those friendly ways. Have a laugh about it later, talk, and everything should move on from that point.

 

It was fucked up of you to not tell him, especially if this is a best friend because best friends are here to be the people you trust. I'd be upset too, but any TRUE friend will find a way to get over it. Just explain to him that you wanted to know it was real but it doesn't mean that there was any lack of trust between you two and you're sorry for not telling him. Let him know you know he's there for you and vice-versa.

 

just tell him, he'll be happy for you if hes a real friend

 

Maybe try to hang out together and just introduce her as your girlfriend before you tell him, that way he can't get any ideas about how your deal will play out before meeting her.
