Oxodium, if it was JaGeX then all hope is not lost. I forgot why they do this, but someone had their account wiped during an investigation, but he passed and his items were returned to his bank. I hope you pass the investigation and get your items back. If I lost $8,000 I would flip out.

 

Yeah, blank IPs are undoubtedly Jagex. I'm guessing they caught on to your RWT. It's not unheard of.

The guy had his address, he could have injected a RAT or keylogger by cracking his WEP. WiFi crackers are more common that you think.

 

In that case, they must have been investigating somebody who they suspected of RWT, and then after seizing his account they realized they had made a mistake.

In Oxo's case I don't think this would be possible. Not to be a pessimist, but he is a gold trader and so if Jagex seized his party hat and wiped all 5 of his mules, there is probably very little chance that they will return his items because they made a big mistake and he 'passed the investigation'. It would be great if it happened though, I just wouldn't have too much hope that its going to happen.

Hmm, yea.. he was peepin through your window and noticed in the garbage you ate a bad curry the night before so they knew your shit was going to be 5+ mins so they stealth swooped in and boom..

TBH its pretty far fetched but for ~$8000, if someone has you're addy they coulldddd break into your house, change your setting and upload watever to your comp then bail..

I've seen some pretty crazy shit on Oceans 11,12 + 13.

Sorry for the gravedig on this post from 3 pages back, but proxies don't work in RS, only VPN's do (or accessing it from an entirely different router such as a new router or a VPS). Additonally about IPs, it is possible to rewrite your router's hostname so that the "Last Logged By:" can say anything. I assume you can do the same editing process for removing the hostname entirely.

You can do it from basically any router. I don't want to go into detail about the method, but you can basically have it show any message. It doesn't need to be a VPS.

 

jagex probably looked at your screen and saw that you were giving a p hat to someone for nothing, then had a look at some of your other accounts and saw they were mules. i highly doubt it was the guy you were trading with, did he act suspicious or say anything when you told him what happened?

 

The chances are slim if it wasn't Jagex. The person must have been using a RAT because then he'd know when you were afk and when to strike. Then he would need several accounts to trade the max cash stacks. Then he would have to take even more cash stacks from the GE. He also took your items including junk, I don't think a person would be that greedy in such circumstances when they need to be as quick as possible. They also did it with minimal movement on your mules. Realistically it could only of been Jagex.
