    Sold Name - Account Recovered

    Hello,

I'm having issues with an account ordeal right now.

I bought an rare named account for a cheap price a while back, kept the name on the level 3 account, and later resold the name for higher price.

Just yesterday, the member I sold the name to messaged me saying he was going to get me banned for apparently recovering the account -- when it could have been the original owner, or even someone before the person I bought the name from.

    What do I do?

I'm a loyal member of Sythe.org with a post count of nearly 1000, and I have some vouches. I'm not looking to be banned, so I need some support.

If you re-sell accounts, you accept the liability of the trade being your responsibility. I suggest you refund him and stop selling accounts that were not created on your own IP address.

    Understandable.

One problem with that. I'm unable to refund the member at this time as I do not have RSGP. Do I just accept the possible ban coming?

I'm no mod, but I think you will maybe receive a ban until you repay him/her. Not to sure. Just PM a mod.

You can purchase the RSGP to be able to sell. A lot of gold sellers take a variety of payment methods, including cash by mail (my favorite :) )

Otherwise, talk to him, give him what you can now and get him the rest as soon as possible. Hopefully he will understand and give you some time.

For future reference, reselling accounts is always a dangerous business, as is account trading in general. Be more careful.

Also, it's great to see somewhat new members with low vouches taking responsibility. Good for you.

Try to get as much gp as possible so you can pay him back ASAP. Otherwise, you'll be banned.

    Refund him back.

If you do not have the RSGP, then pay him through PayPal.

If he does not have PayPal, then buy the RSGP with your PayPal.

Problem with buying an account from a non-reputable user and then later reselling it is that it can be recovered.

However through these similar situations the original buyer of the account could also have possibly recovered the account and simply puts the blame on the original seller (original account owner).

That's why I will never buy accounts. And in the case I sell mine, I will come to an agreement where I can not be liable after the trade, framing is also possible.

Sythe.Org rules have, and will always, supersede anyone's Terms of Agreement.

If you sell an account, you're held liable for anything & everything that happens thereafter. If the account gets hacked/locked/recovered, you're the one responsible for returning the account to your customer, or face a ban or refund (Partial or Full) .

I'm surprised this user hasn't been banned yet.

Paying him back will be the only way that you will not be at risk of a ban.

Yeah, its a possibility. Egu, I would just discuss this with a mod. Explain everything that happened then they will give you a direct answer.

You should just try your best to refund the guy. Also, there could be a slight chance that the account wasn't recovered and he's just trying to frame you. Regardless, I applaud you on your honesty and bringing this up to the community even though it puts you in a shitty position.

Sounds like he is trying to scam you. I wouldn't refund him. Funny how it was recovered right after he bought it. I've had this same thing happen to me twice, by the same person. I made the mistake of trading with the person again after the initial 'recover'. I'm going to PM you a name and if it's the same guy PM me back.

Don't mean to be a bitch, but hey. It's true. Your own responsibility. Unless ofcourse, you MENTIONED it wasn't your OWN original account that you, yourself made.

    Thank you for the feedback!

I have heard no further news upon talking with this member, so it's very well possible it could be a scam. I will possibly discuss this with a Moderator.

I've now learned I must be really careful trading.

I would wait it out and see if any ban does actually come o_O
If the person you sold it to legitimately doesn't think YOU recovered it, based on character or what have you, just learn from the lesson.
