Today is the day-- one year ago-- that Mojang first released the one-hit-wonder indie game, Minecraft.
Today-- one year ago-- one man began the foundation to a very successful game and company, which has grown and grown from a simple sandbox game into the game that we know today, in all its glory.

Wow, it seems so much longer than a year. Happy birthday minecraft, you have given me hours of entertainment

 

I can't belive its only been a year ;o happy birthday good old minecraft.

Really? I thought it was 2 years ago? I found the game about a year ago, and I have been playing it ever since

 

I remember when beta came out and I played that. I don't play anymore because I honestly don't get it, but it's still a good game.

It's actually the birthday of the first beta SMP release, give or take a few weeks

Minecraft Alpha was pre-2010 but wasn't considered the actual official game since it was just a creative-mode sandbox, and for the most part; unheard of.
