Change 48 hour barrier to a 24 hour one

Currently, one cannot bump their thread for the first time until 48 hours after creation. What is the point of having this rule? I feel that it would be better if this limit could be reduced to 24 hours. This way, one can bump their thread normally instead of having the barrier before them.

I tried thinking of a reason for the 48 hours to be in place instead of the 24, but I could not think of one. If, however, there is a proper reason for having the 48 hour limit, please let me know.

I will have to agree with this one, why is first bump 48 hours? No sense from my point of view.

Definitely support, I've had times where I post a thread and its in the second page in an hour, then I have to wait another 48 hours to try and sell it.

This will also help prevent people from posting multiple threads.

 

I have to agree, I also had the same problem of my thread being on the second page within an hour, I think it was around 30 minutes actually.

 

^It wouldn't really fix that problem. One would still need to wait 24 hours before bumping.

Agreed, this is rather annoying for when I post in a slow time and 100 different people then get on and bump their threads.

 

I support, i have mentioned this months ago but never thought to suggest it, i can honestly see no reason WHY it isn't like this to begin with.

 

Support. This is really pretty annoying in some of the faster moving forums. I don't know why there's a difference between the first bump and future ones anyway.

I support... it's really irritating to having to wait 48 hours to bump it up if no one has posted anything. I remember when I made threads, I would hope someone posted at least once regardless of if it's spam or not.

 

The rule is one bump per 24 horus anyway.

100% support was wondering this for a long time. Staff has supported dont see why this wont be followed through.

 

I support, although I know this has been suggested in the past and shot down for whatever reason, I have personally previously suggested it.

 

With an increase of members this is a necessary change.
