Sticky for RSGP price discussion

I've been seeing quite a few threads for this pop up recently. I think it should probably be stickied for discussion.

Thoughts?

I think he means a sticky discussing the price of GP, for exmple; "I think the price of GP is silly".

 

Yes, because there have been 3 or 4 threads just on this floating around recently throughout various sections.

 

I don't understand why such a thread would be needed? The market at Sythe is like a bazaar where the prices are chosen by the seller. It should be the GP provider's own motive to lower his prices so people buy his GP.

Prices for virtual money aren't static and once you do make them static in this forum, people would rather buy them somewhere else where the prices are lower. In other words, not so good for Sythe.

 

To avoid scams of absurd prices where sellers would fall for their greediness.

 

Putting up a sticky does one thing to topics like this: it kills them. It's inevitable that, by restricting people to ONLY one relatively unorganized place for discussion, we're effectively killing that discussion point.

 

Not really.. People will always have their opinions of the price of GP.
It fluctuates in price meaning opinions may not stay the same, which then brings up more discussion.

 

I think that normally this is true. However this is different. This is a topic open for debate with different sides to defend. The reason the normal stickies are like you describe are because they are just people seeking help from others (VPS and price check for example).

 

No support, it is not needed. Most people wouldn't use it if it honestly, and it's good to see new threads pop up every now and then as they bring new ideas. Stickies usually kill discussion as stated by Kero.

 

Oh maybe it could be possible to have a kind of graph for the price of USD/M.
And give gold merchanters a new rank like "serious RSGP trader" so they could post their trades and they would be recorded anonymously to obtain the graph

 

As for your first idea, it will be very hard to obtain a serious objective price on sell/buy, therefore it'd be hard for an official graph, it would be a good idea to post one unofficially.
As fir the second rank idea. It looks complicated and silly. No offence

Anyways, I don't know if I support or don't. There are a lot of threads about this recently, but I think that if a sticky was made, everyone would quickly discuss what they have to about the current prices. The sticky would soon be deserted, until the prices change again.
