Jagex chose me for free membership

So this morning I got an email from jagex and they told me I can get 1 month of free p2p.

When I try to click on the link, it doesn't bring me to their page. They also sent me 2 emails for 5,000 free loyalty points. All of this to the same email address. Why can't I click on the links?

 

It's a phisher.

 

Rofl, I advise you not to click the links unless you want to loose your account alot of people fall for these stupid emails, I get them nearly every day.

 

It's not from them. It's from somebody else who lies about being jagex just to steal your account.

delete them. if you get an email from jagex then delete it. its probably a phishing link. if its a real email from jagex (unlikely) then no harm can come from deleting it. you'll find out when your logging in or in your messages if anything has happened to your account.

 

I'm pretty sure Jagex doesn't email anyone, if they want to contact you they'll send it through the RuneScape mail thing.

 

They have probably played with the letters and numbers or something within the email address. If I were you (which I'm not) then I would block this email address and delete all the emails which they have sent you.

Jagex emails people who register their email and people who are a part of the Members' Loyalty Programme. They always send me emails when I gain points for being a memver, and now that my membership ran out a week ago, today they sent me this email for free p2p which seems very legit.

Did you already click on the links? If so, check you should scan your computer. Delete the emails, if Jagex actually gave you free membership, you'll find out if you see a message from them in your mail box when you next log in. But I cannot stress the importance of scanning your computer enough.

Ok you guys were right. I clicked on the link and the web address is trusted-dicing.x10.mx

It seemed too official.

My anti-virus even notified me.

It's still ok to log on RS with no problems right?

I'll be honest here, if you fall for a simple phish like that... I have no idea what I can possibly say to you. /facehoof.

 

Also, if you did enter your password, change it asap!

 

i got two emails for loyalty point too, i didnt click the link im waiting in game for loyalty points. but it does look legit cos i recovered my pure a few days back and the confirmation is from the same email and everything

 

Recovery your account just in case and just change your password and i.p if you want.
