From my understanding it is not a buy-in. If you help out a lot on their site and clan you have potential to become host. I also think the people you know and your bank size (unfortunately) also adds into the equation. But I think even with that they start you with a low rank and as you build up a reputation you get higher ranks.

And for loosing 5.5b...yes and no. Since April, I have lost that amount, yes. However, I did not initially start at 5.5bil, I gained some of that cash from dicing. The total amount of cash I would have if I didn't dice at all would have been around 3,900m. Still bad, but not as bad

 

There was a 9.8B pot today ffs + 2c VS KO. KO won!
