I'm curious how I should wire this?

So I've been planning on getting a Black Magic Intensity Pro for a while now, and the thing is it must be installed into your desktop computer in the PCI express slot.

Anyways, that shouldn't be a problem to install but the thing is I want to use it for recording xbox360 gameplay. And no, please don't suggest I get an HD PVR because I play in HDMI and I want to record in HDMI. Not component.

The thing is, my PC is on like the first floor and my xbox is in the basement so they are 1 floor apart. I'm really just considering drilling like a hole and dropping an HDMI cable down.

I'm not confused on how to set up the wires, I guess the Topic Title should've been how do I get my HDMI cable from the 1st floor to my basement? haha.

Anyone have any idea? I don't want like 100ft of cable running around the floor and going down into the basement either. Are there like HDMI adapter things where I can transfer the signal wirelessly? I'm not sure how I should do this.

I run all my internet cables around my house through the basement with holes drilled in the floor in the corner of the room. My basement isn't finished, so it really isn't that big of a problem and my dad is a carpenter so he can fix them if he wanted. But honestly, that is the best way to run wires (or through walls).

Yeah, drilling is probably your best bet. Unfortunately though a cable long enough for that might be pretty expensive. I don't think there is wireless HDMI, and if there was I wouldn't really trust it tbh.

Also, are you sure you have fast enough HDDs for the BMI Pro? I remember reading how you need super fast write speeds in order to use it effectively. So unless you have at least a RAID0 array setup (preferably high capacity SSD) I dunno if you should even bother, tbh.

Move your computer/get a laptop or drill. Those are your only two options. If you're even slightly considering wiring the whole thing along your floor and stairs to the basement, you'll need a cable twice, maybe three times as long. You also have to anticipate the speed of the electronic signal, it will be slowed in a longer cable since it takes more time from the source point to the destination.
