    How to beat an addiction

Welcome to my basic guide on how to stump an addiction.
[IMG]Make your reasoning obvious. If you don't actually know why you're quitting, you won't be able to stick to it. Decide why it's time to move on.

[IMG]Publicise your plan. If you tell all of your friends and family that you're quitting, it's an incentive to follow through, and they will surely assist your efforts in any way that they can.

[IMG]Start a fun new hobby. If your addiction was something time consuming like gaming, you'll need a new hobby to fill in this new time slot. Be sure to mix around what you're doing, as to not fall into the same fate with something new!

[IMG]Be steadfast and reward your triumphs. If you've had a perfect week, take yourself out for ice cream! Celebrate victory and punish defeats.

[IMG]Document your progress. Staying visually organized is a great way to tell and share progress.

Good luck! Hopefully you'll be able to beat whatever is bothering you, and know that people are out there that can help you!
    Thanks to TBT for grammar.

Also I find writing down my plans helps..and remembering what it feels like after you did it, even thought you don't want to

    How to beat an addiction

The best way to beat an addiction is not to do it for a day and then the next day. Once you don't do it for 2 days you'll realise you don't need it.

^That seems like something that works on a personal basis, but it's harder for some people than others. For some things, skipping for 2 days is natural, and they just come right back to it.

    How to beat an addiction

Subscribed to this thread, going to try to quit my little fast food addiction. I've been spending way too much money on it and it's probably going to affect my health in the long-run.

    How to beat an addiction

Sounds like something taken from a speech they give in school... Anyone that's dealt with a real addiction knows you can't ever beat it. You can just treat it
Once an addict, always an addict

This might work if your addicted to Runescape, or fapping too many times a day. But I highly doubt it would be much help beyond that... lol.
