Download link gives 404 error

 

When I press "Play Game" my cursor turns to a loading symbol for a sec then stops..
Nothing else happens.

So there's just a blank white screen.
Please tell me what to do, thanks.

 

Try giving it a minute or two to load up. Since the client uses IE and not many people use IE as their main browser for RS, you can also try loading RS once in IE then going back to the client afterward so that all the Jagex files are already arranged and downloaded.

However, I'm still in the process of patching the client up a lot, so I'll see what I can do in terms of game loading time for the next release.

I don't want to be the one who cries wolf, but I figured I'd just post this virus scan of the client up here. It's flagged as a backdoor just so you all know.
I also wanted to ask the developer if they can possibly fix that, so future versions will not show up as such.

I didn't develop the installer program, I use this:

That company is known to provide good freeware software, so the backdoor must be a false positive. If you know any easy, free, GUI install creator alternatives I'm open to suggestions for replacement.

I sent you a private message, there is a link and additional information on a highly reliable installer creator. I also wanted to know, for the browser window in your application, is there a way to change the homepage? It goes to rsultimate.com each time I open the tab, even disabling it in the HOSTS file does not fix it within the client. How about even disabling flash or ads altogether?
Can you please give some insight?

 

Please remove "fastest client available" from the title.

This is obviously not true, any native java client would be faster than this.
As you said, this client has to use at least 3 layers to run the client; I'm not a .NET expert but I would guess .NET interpreter -> Some WebBrowser control -> Java client.

As far as I'm concerned, you're advertising this as something it's not.

 

I'll try for Flash, but the ads are a bit more tricky since essentially what you do is block the browser from allowing navigation to certain sites (ad sites). Adblocker addons for regular browsers usually have hefty databases of each individual site which is why they work so well, but if I were to do this I might only be able to cancel out the main ads.

When I say fastest client, I mean fastest kit. Eternity is faster than EliteSwitch, SwiftKit, MooScape, and any other client I've seen. Not necessarily in the loading of the game, since you're right, it all depends on the webbrowser control, but the startup time and loading of features to be able to get the full experience right off the bat when you open the program. Hope that clears things up.

 

Does it have any botting features or is it solely a client to play runescape on?

 

I made the plugin system for anyone who wanted bots, so that they could make them. I've got no interest in bots since when I play, I play legit, therefore I won't waste time making something that won't be excellent anyway (bots on .NET are never great).

 

Hey blupig don't know whether this is a bug or it's just only happening to me.
For the past few months or so I get a bug where it has a small box in the middle that says "Loading Client please wait...."
It basically just stays there the whole time no matter how long it's open. Also it shows everytime I open the client.

The next release should fix that. I'm very sorry that I can't fix it right away, but this release is so close to being done that it wouldn't even be worth it

In the meantime try uninstalling it then reinstalling, it's the first time I've come across that issue

 

Hey blupig, just wondering do you want my ES source? You might be able to poach my auto clicker i was making It's pretty much 99% done.
I'm gonna release the source code to everyone when i get around to it, but just thought i'd give you the offer.

 

For the record, I reinstalled the client and still got the same result. So sincethis is the first time you got this I wonder if it's something to do with my PC. Maybe some mess ups from installation. W/e is it it's not that big of a deal.
