How hard would it be hard to make a logger like this, no knowledge of C#?

 

Let me start by saying if you've no previous experience in programming you've got absolutely no hope.

If you want to do these things you actually need to learn about what's being done, not just say "I want to do this."

Most of the time people don't really learn to code with one particular concept or program in mind, they just learn the language and concepts relating to it. By all means start coding, but I'd suggest looking at it with a broader spectrum than just a single bot or even for the purpose of botting. Otherwise you're more likely to get bored and give up.

You can't really gauge how much you have to know or how long it will take to learn these things. There is always more than one way of doing something, and everyone moves at their own pace. I can't estimate your capabilities for you.

I'm not discouraging you, but if all you want to do is copy someone else's idea, you're not going to get that far. Such is a testament to the amount of RS clients that were released here over the years that all did the same thing, and you can put your money on the fact that most of these self-titled "coders" gave up after a while. Hell, I'm guilty of making one myself, as am I guilty of copying other peoples' code and ideas. All in the past now, but nonetheless.

To make something like this you'd need to understand a lot about how things work on a more basic level (and that's basic as in base, not easy). .Net is fairly comprehensive in the sense that it does a lot of the hard work for you, but I still think it's better to understand what it's doing when you say "look for this object" or "do this task". C programmers (not C#) tend to learn about this moreso, but the language is often daunting and considered complicated for the beginner.

You've also got to understand Jagex's macro detection methods and whatnot. They're usually discussed often enough on websites more dedicated to RS autoing / programming (the programming section here is near dead), and you need to be able to figure out ways to slip past them. Although it seems trivial to create a macro for a game, anything worth using for a time isn't the easiest thing to make. If you've got that kind of dedication, kudos to you, but most people who make such things are already predisposed to programming.

I don't really mind how long it takes, i'm bored and have nothing to do, so i can give programming a go.
However, how would jagex detect such a tool? It's just a logger. I don't think that falls under a macro.

 

Perhaps. Just make sure you don't edit memory or actually do anything in-game and you should be fine I guess. I just skimmed over the video and probably misunderstood its purpose.

Hello, If your a beginner something like this would be perfect for you, in my opinion this isn't difficult to achieve. Its a project that would learn you many aspects of C#, and you would get the basis of it done without any detailed knowledge.

Clicking a number of image boxes and adding a string to a listbox then saving/filtering its contents its probably the hardest part, all the rest is just fancy niggly bits.

If you would need help with the programming then post here and i can have a look.

Try and get your hands on visual studio, this will help you alot as it shows you your progress visually and you can drag and drop items on your form making it easier for you.

 

Oh and google is your friend, I use it all the time to progress my projects

Just have to find out the right materials and have patience dont think tis too hard to complete.

 

what do you mean by logger ?

if you mean that game almost impossible for single person even if so experienced

I don't get what this does. Does it interact with the game in any way? If not you can make it pretty easily. It's just a matter of, as Swan said, knowing the language before you dive into it.

 

I totally forgot about this thread, I basically gave up a few days after trying.
It's just a logger from what I understand, you click on the picture and it updates.
Anyway, feel free to close this, I don't plan on making one any time soon :noworry:
