[August 22] Eternity Client - Fastest Client Available

I'm starting daily development on the next version as of today, so expect a release within the next 2 weeks.

 

Love the client, but the client crashes every time I even attempt to open the browser portion of the client. Anyone know why ?

 

I never knew we had such a client, a bit disappointed I will not be here to download it as I am on vacation. Hopefully by September there's many great updates.

 

Lol are you using some sort of antivirus no one knows about? Here's a virus scan for you


i tried decompiling it also, but it kept saying "error parsing .net assembly."
Either way, the client is clean, the thread wouldn't have made it this far if it was infected.

Edit: As soon as i searched up a monster, it crashed. Item database works though.

 

I'll have to take a look, thanks! Expect a quick fix within the next few days. As for decompilation, I've obfuscated it, so you'd have to know either MSIL or Assembly and use a native decompiler.

 

Ummmm, does it not require java like the real RS client? If it does, I am unable to use it

I found a few things that stuck out-
Sometimes, i donno why but it would randomly go to my other tab opened, scared me a bit at bandos so i switched to swiftkit for the trip lol
Also, is it possible to make it a little more colorful, like add a little bit of black to it? It looks kind of boring all grey

Other then that, I like it blu

 

Which tab was it that it switched to? The only thing I can think of of why it would do that is if the content of the other tab got updated while you were playing.

Hmm I'll try to replicate the bug but if I can't then there's nothing I can do. The new version I'm working on thought doesn't use tabs, so look forward to that one I guess

It's crashing randomly now Don't know why, it crashes randomly in game, it gives me the 'client stopped working' popup.

 

I don't know why it would do that... :I Any error messages at all?

 

It just turns the client all white and says 'Eterenity client has stopped working'
Then i get wait for the program to work or close right away option.

 

I tried looking for the bug for like 1-2 hours and couldn't find anything significant. I'm currently working on a brand new recode though that will organize my messy code and will hopefully eliminate all bugs and make the client faster overall. That won't be out for another couple weeks, but in the meantime if you get any bug messages or whatever I can try to fix them. Unfortunately I can't figure out the monster's database either, so I'll need to remake that as well.

 

Alright if it happens again i'll tell you what i did to cause it.

I've been very busy, but rest assured work is being done on the client. Since I hardly have the time to do a complete recode, I'm recoding the messy bits of the current source, removing/misplacing some useless features that nobody uses, and overall giving it a big revamp. So far it loads instantly as opposed to the current release which takes a couple seconds. Good progress I suppose
