*IDEA* An RS Insurance Company

Ok, so i had this idea for a while now, and I want to see if this kind of thing is viable.

Basically, I want to create an insurance company for RS (Sythe Based). Say, players pay 1m/month, and they are guaranteed at least 30m in case they get hacked/cleaned. Good idea? Bad idea? How to improve? Viable? Post below, thank you

 

I don't see this going anywhere, but that's just me. You MIGHT get some customers, but it's gonna be scarce if any. Common sense basically puts you out of business. But interesting idea nonetheless.

 

This isn't going to work sorry, since if I pay you 1m, I'm just going to tell you that I got hacked and you can give me 30m more. I could easily fake it, so fucking easy

:'( ok.... it seemed like a good idea, i was hoping for ideas to prevent people from faking. I guess that some real life policies won't work on RS because some people are unscrupulous.

 

It wouldn't work because of the obvious noobs claiming they got hacked. I guess maybe if the guy puts down 30m insurance he can get roughly 20m back. It's a 10m profit but it's not a bad idea. If you decide to do this idea, share some with me would ya?

Sorry but this is actually a horrible idea as I'm positive the only customers you will get are scammers.. This really has no viability at all since you cannot track whether someone has actually been hacked or if they're just bs'ing you (which 99.9% will be).

It could work, but how are you going to prove that someone didn't get hacked?

Anyone can take a video of their account with nothing on it and say they got hacked.

The only way I see it working is if there was a program to monitor your account 24/7. However, that's impossible.

Good idea but you'll end of losing money instead of making money.

 

The only way I can see this working is if you only fulfill there claim if there non tradeable items were also dropped. They have to have proof that they have non tradeable items prior to giving them an insurance policy, then if they get hacked and there money taken, and as usually there untradeables dropped (Fire Cape, Full Void, Whatever Else you can think of) then you would fulfill there policy.

I think this would be worth it as it would greatly lesson scammers, but I honestly don't know how many legit people would even be interested, I wouldn't be.

 

The only way I could see this possibly working would be:
insurance only for untradables AND requiring a deductable

 

Some how i cant see this working the only way that you could get past people claiming would be to ask them to put down a deposit but that would be very hard.Also if everyone claims at once then you will go out of business lol D:

 

It is a good idea, but it could be exploited to be honest.

They transfer their items to a different account.

"o i lost my money see i was skam haked" you give them 30m and they just got a free 30M.

It's an interesting idea, but I think those with bills are smart enough to secure their account. They might also transfer some gold to a bank (a separate account owned by them). Good idea though, never heard of it before.

 

You would have to get them to pay more first and get less back later. Make like a 1 month period where they cannot claim, but with a 20m deposit + whatever monthly fee there is. Then, if they say they got hacked, give them back something realistic around 18m that way you make small profit and lose nothing.

You'd need them to pay more than 1M/month. Maybe 5. For the first month, they shouldn't be able to claim either. And as Bluepig said, like a 20M joining fee.

I mean in theory, it would work, but practically I doubt it.
