    No bans?

I find it very odd jagex claims they have new banning methods for bots yet havent even seemed to lift a finger about botting recently...so i ask for everyones opinion: Is jagex either A: in over their head and being outsmarted by the botting community... B: Waiting a bit and doing a mass bad...or C:done caring and just worried about maximizing profits?

personally im not completely sure myself...i would rule out A as its very easy to see most bots...go to blue drags near yanile and watch like 8 accounts run the exact same track...same with yew cutters, theres tons of other spots that can be seen with the naked eye...surely they arent outsmarted...but why no bans?

I have suicide botted on two level 120s and a bunch of zammy wine grabbers for an entire month now with zero consequences.

Jagex has given up on bots.
Jagex has given up on runescape.

If Jagex cared, they would have been organizing a mass ban. But with how easy it is to spot bots, and the massive amount of them I see every single day, it would have taken like 1 day to work up a massive list of accounts to ban.

With ^, I really think they just don't care anymore. Time to focus on Transformers to them, I think.

Um really its all of the above. It cost too much for Jagex to keep updating the bot detection system. Probably not losing profit but not dealing with the problem and taking baby steps is making them more money. Also you will be seeing a mass ban sooner or later that's how the keep the game from becoming too overwhelmed thus more player will join also increase profits. Also why ban thousands of accounts that are botting that pay for membership? Especially with today's economy that would be dumb cause then your cutting out possibly millions of dollars from the payroll.

I know nothing has been said but I have a feeling that the next runescape game to come out is going to be on disks and rune threw a platform such as steam. This will pretty much hinder the botting community also create more profit and open the game to new technology such as graphics so on so forth.

I have been botting on my main also 3 other account that just mine all day nothing yet.

This! plus profit and I'm sure there are a few other behind the scene things that are happening that we will never know..

I mean cmon Ferrari's aren't free ya know? Banning all those botters that are members would mean selling one of his Maserati's.

All they are is greedy anymore. I mean cmon real life compared to runescape....

Jagex has officially died. Never heard of any ban for the past few weeks. :(

Now it's a race against us to see who farms the most before 1 mil drops to 1 cent each.

I don't think it's necessarily that they don't care, but more along the lines of they can't really do much about it at this point. They're not going to dish out bans on acc's unless they're sure they are a bot, and a good bot nowadays aren't exactly the easiest to detect, though I do think they are holding back a lot, like others have said for more profit on them.

I think things will be done about the major botted areas, like SG, and I hope they do. In order for gold farming to not turn into complete utter shit, we need Jagex to keep some order.

not exactly, they don't lose any money when they ban bothers because they don't refund you the days of membership you didn't use. And 99% of botters just make an new account after a ban. Or pay to get the account rolled and unbanned

They have done a mass ban at soul wars. There have been bans at LRC. There have been rollbacks and membership erases at sorc garden. So I wouldn't say they aren't doing anything.. however they aren't doing enough.

I recently got a 2 week ban for botting, just after I upgraded an account to members.
I think that they aren't banning loads and loads of bots because they earn so much money from botters buying members and botting

It could be that they're seeing how much money they can make off regular players + botters at once and then making a decision on how many to ban.

My Puro account was rolled the other day. 92 hunting down to 85, and 85 mage down to 77.

    Hardly even a rollback.
