What do you think will happen when we run out of oil?

Scientists say that we will reach our peak by 2030 or 2050.

However, those are calculations based on only the oil banks we have found so far.

More and more oil is being discovered, as deep sea drilling is becoming popular.
Furthermore, there are the oil sands in canada, and i do not believe that their amounts have been calculated yet.

As oil gets harder to find, it will get more expensive.
For example, retrieving oil from the sands in xanda will involve mass deforestation and of course, too much money, where the company or companies digging for them will lose lots of profit if they sell at the current price.

But i dont think that we will run out of oil soon; not until maybe the end of our lifetimes anyways.

 

Hopefully if the planet isn't dead (cause I think oil is like the blood of planet Earth) we move onto using hydrogen as fuel cause there is plenty on this planet.

 

US has a shitload of OIL its just the tree hugger's shit them self every time we try to get close to it. They rather us buy it from terrorist supporting country's. DRILL BABY DRILL!

 

I would honestly think if we had a "Shitload" of Oil, we would be domestically using it, and we wouldn't be in two wars right now. Or if we would depend on it foreign, which we currently are, the prices wouldn't be this high.

There are various substitutes even now. I think world could basically stop using oil at this very moment. The only reason the oil is still so popular is that it makes big $$$ so all the important men who have enormous influence will do anything to keep the oil in business. Its all politics. People are not leading countrys and huge multilingual companys , its the money. And as long as there are oil in earths soil it will be used. The less there is the more expensive it goes. I think its good that it runs out, so new cheaper energy resources well be developed and used.

 

Well I believe and alternative would be found but it would be overpriced and would not work half as well as oil.We as as a community need to learn how to cut back on the use and the only way for use to do that is to raise the prices of oil..

 

I'm pretty sure that by the time that we run out of oil, we would already have found an alternate energy source.

My opinion is that with that as of know we could live without oil the problem is that alternative energy such as solar panels and windmils aren't quite to the price they need to be when solar panels and alternative energy sources become cheaper and oil prices rise a bit higher we will get to a point that it's worth buying eletrical cars and using alternative energy sources

 

Not sure at all, but we humans have quite a knack for being able to adapt. Regardless; I'm quite great full that I will not be alive to see this happen. (I hope :x)

 

As long as we put the effort into them, alternate energy sources can carry us as far as oil does now.

 

Well oil will eventually run out, we all know that. We just hope its a slow gradual process where all the idiots in government and the auto industries have enough time to fully prepare to acclimate to alternate fuels/energies for the masses. Cause if shit goes down within the next decade, I dont think anyone would be ready to face the reality, and mass global hysteria will surely follow.

We'll switch to another reliable resource... We probably won't switch after oil can't be found anymore, but more like before, when the prices get too high we'll start investing in other things such as solar power cars, eletric cars, etc.

 

i believe by the time we run out of oil we will have changed to a different energy source. however things will be a little mess-up when we do.
