So it's been 2, almost 3 days since I ordered my phontovps package. Hopefully this isn't Hazenet all over again >_<

 

They told me yesterday that they were doing some maintenance. Be patient is all I can say.

 

This is what I got sent yesterday when I opened a ticket about it:

By a few hrs I guess they meant days. More like level 1 english..

 

Yeah I got the same crap . 24 hours after ordering I asked them about my VPS being ready and the dude basically said "you'll get it soon." Then 6 hours later I asked again and he said they were out of space and getting hardware up "soon." Now it's almost been 2 days since ordering.

It's just kind of annoying to be told it'll be ready soon when it isn't.

 

At least they ARE answering tickets, unlike Hazenet >_<

Request the amount of days you lost to be added before the next invoice.

did you get a refund from hazenet? because on mine I still don't have what I ordered and I ask a refund already.. and I have report it on paypal aswell.

 

I haven't actually ordered from Hazenet, i'm just aware of the whole mess. As far as I know they aren't responding to anyone and they oversold.

 

Whats a good Vps?

 

I experience lag when trying to access the VPS from either Putty or VNC.

For VNC I do the following:

Open VNC and type in my VPS IP (XXX).

It then says attempting to connect to host.

Then it says unable to connect to host: Connection timed out (10060)

A few times today I successfully moved to the next screen where it asked for my VNC password and I got access to my VPS, but it was much slower than when I had my previous VPS, BEAM 3.

For Putty I do the following:

Input my IP (XXX), Port 22, access via SSH.

I open it and it is just a black screen.

After a few moments I get the following error: Network Error: Connection Timed Out.

A few times today, it successfully asked for my login and password and I was able to install a few things onto my VPS. If this helps, I installed the following:

Java
Unzip
Firefox
vnc-server
nano (though I believe it was pre-installed on my VPS)
groupinstall &#8220;XFCE-4.4&#8221;

All installed successfully through Putty, with some slight lag, but not much.

I have told this to support over at PhotonVPS. They fix it. It works temporarily with some lag and than this happens over and over and over. Really starting to piss me off now.

 

I am waiting for a service as well, they have been around years so be patient. Probably hardware/space issue alot of RS players are going to them.

I totally agree. At least they are working towards getting you service and not just throwing in the towel.

This is a good suggestion, anyone waiting should submit a ticket once their service is online asking for credit for the amount of days from invoice to service. But wait until your service is online as to not bog their system.

Hazenet still owes me a bit of change as well.

 

How much bandwidth allocated per month? That is very important if is unmetered unlimited, metered, etc. For example a 1GB RAM 10mbs VPS running two SorcPro's 18/24 hours a day took up all my bandwidth in two weeks, I didn't read tos and agreements and ended up with 2 no-support weeks of a vps with -insertnumberherekb/0 Bandwidth, but at least I didn't get a huge bill like people get from godaddy. So find out bandwidth allocation and what measures are there in case you go over.

You are running on how much ram? by "accessing your vps" do you mean the operating system was operational and you can see the remote desktop but it was laggy? Or is it a black screen on your enviroment too?

Black screen was in Putty.

I could access the desktop sporadically and it worked to some extent but it was much slower then my BEAM 3. I switched because BEAM no longer supports Java. It has been a mess.

 

I used a friends VPS to bot on RS and it worked AMAZINGLY. the Vps was fast/efficient and it got things done.

 

Sounds like its Photons end and you are doing things fine, it must have been Ken the level 1 engineer that said "helped you verify now" What he did was reset your ram sort of like rambooster, so maybe using one of those on the vps would work? Just an idea.

From what I gather they have had a huge influx of rs botters going to them since [insertrseventhere] and they are scrambling to put up more nodes. This should not effect your dedicated ram though, so yeah it's pretty wierd. I would say just try ur best to run some bots and leave em when you have the window - you are fortunate to have service atm I am waiting on a warp 4, and forced to wait till they have more hardware. Also send a ticket with this issue, describing the difference in performance they can give you more info as to their problem. After all you are paying alot for Xen platform and dedicated ram.

 

Using this exact VPS to run one SW bot from Rsbots.net. Runs 24/7 I just decide to reboot the VPS every 1-2 days to clear cache
