    - Forms to be filled out for scam reports
    - Updated vB to be able to add new mods, such as thanks mods and iTrader

Don't know if that's worth the effort

I've tried barking up the "let's upgrade vBulletin" tree.

Problem is how heavily modded this version is and the sheer size of the database. Matt knows what he's doing though, if there's an addition that would be useful, he would code it for us.

Upgrading vBulletin is simply unfeasible given that we'd need to prune a TON of shit from the DB (and lose traffic) and lose all the useful custom code we already have.

Honestly updating would be very worth it. No more waits for custom code since everything is already in a mod, plus regular updates and support for those mods. My Activity hasn't worked for years and it took a long time to get NextGen off its feet too. Honestly, losing traffic for a week or so and pruning some of the useless shit we've already got would be worth it.

Think of it this way: you're working with a programmer who refuses to use anything but VB6. It's outdated, deprecated, and just about useless. You have to custom-write everything to be compatible with modern systems.

If Matthew feels like dedicating the time to write a thanks mod and an alternative to iTrader, I really do think it should be done. Otherwise, we should go back up the updating tree.

Well, when you put it that way... no.

I would like it if we could magically have vB 4.0 effortlessly and instantly, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. For one, I don't know if the vBulletin upgrade process would retain custom tables and columns, or if it would simply error out because of them.

Please re-read my suggestion. I say that all market mods may answer all market spam reports. The sections would be assigned to market moderators so they could comb un-reported posts, and ensure more quality control in the market.

The problem is the sheer number of stickies that would be. If it was extremely regulated, I could see it happening.

Verified vouches. Just an admin or mod who makes a thread with your name and puts the vouches that are there. It shows which vouches are legit and would catch many self vouchers. Wouldn't eliminate it completely, but still would help a lot. Not sure how it'd work, but I'm sure some others could figure it out. I just thought it up when reading this thread over the past few minutes, so I haven't put much thought into it, so I don't know if it's a good idea or not. Basically you just submit your vouches and they check if their legit. It'd take a hell of alot of time, but it'd still be cut down many issues in my opinion.

@ $50+ for people who donate, I love this idea. I will donate after PayPal donations more than likely, and I'd donate $50 just for that.

@ people who say @Sythe.org emails for staff, that'd be amazing too. Wouldn't eliminate impostors for the most part. I've seen some those around, so wouldn't that make it where you could just take the one you want? I don't think it'd change much at all really.

Punker, the issue is you can make an @sythe.org MSN, even if you didn't have an email address at Sythe.org. Therefore, many fakes would happen and many newcomers would be scammed. It can't be proven to be negative until it's done, but it definitely wouldn't be a positive change.

Upload feature on forums. Not to upload pictures to Sythe but rather say imageshak. I saw something like this in another forum but forgot which one it is.

-Make the other games section actually organized. Our user base is almost all gamers. Its silly to not attempt to increase activity in that section as it has a load of potential. See my suggestion thread for more details.

-Update Vb. Just run a donation drive to get money to hire a company to do it for us to minimize problems. I doubt it could cost more than what the membership is willing to give. I mean, Spyike racked in thousands in donations in a very short amount of time.

-Actually make a decision about offsite activity bans and make it clear to the community what the policy is.

-Remove moderation of threads in community general. There are multiple moderators now, so dumb threads can be easily removed. There is no point for moderation now.

-IRC / Tinnyychatt that people can actually have some fun in without risking getting banned.

-Mod to allow people to see the banned list. There are very few bans that the mods do not want to tell people the reasoning behind anymore, and it would just make life easier and people happier. If you do not want everyone to know the reason, just put it as "Top Secret (link to staff lounge thread here).

-Rethink the current staff structure. I was going to post a suggestion about this, but I have been lazy. I'l just PM Finn my thoughts about it later when I have some time.

-Pardon Darren and force him to run the SFA forum since I <3 him. (No yelling at me please)

All the random thoughts I had.

    I honestly can't stand vB 4.0.x

Why do people want a thanks mod? That'd just turn out horribly, with all the thank abusing that'd happen.

Do you mean like the old RSCheata? Where there was an option to upload an image to their own server for you to get the link? It appeared under the quick reply box/under the reply box.

Also, I'd like for the VB to be updated, I'm not exactly very good with these things, so my suggestion on how it could work may sound stupid, but...

Couldn't the lists/whatever SMR and Blupig was talking about be copied? Then a new forum created and then uploaded someway, or modified to work with the updated VB? This way Sythe continues to work as normal, until the change is ready to be made.
