[QUICK] Really quick French question.

Il fait froid - it is cold.
How do you say "it was cold"?

Il faisait froid? < I reckon this is right but it's for a test on monday.

(Note, this post makes it seem that I suck at French. I don't :laugh: but yeah, I don't know this )

 

yeah Il faisait froid is right. It's in the past tense "Imparfait" in french

 

A small tip, the imparfait is used for an action that has no distinguishable/explained end, as where the passé composé is used if the action has already finished.

Examples:
PC

It was cold on the night of the 8th of December last year, so we know that it is no longer cold (at least not from this same instance).

Imp

It was cold last night, but there is no indication that it is not cold anymore.
