Add gore to the "One month ban section" In the Sythe.org rules.

I think that along with porn extreme gore should be added to the one month ban section. I think that it is kind of an unwritten rule around here, and it can cause confusion with new members coming to the site. Anyways comment if you support/don't support and why. Thanks!

 

I fully support , because honestly, gore is just gross =p .

 

I support this, I'd delete it straight away anyway, so making it a rule would be alot better.

I see nothing wrong with gore, unless it's really disturbing. Although it really depends on the picture, I enjoy scary movies but some people don't I guess.

As for porn I thought that was already a perm ban?

 

Gore isn't illegal so is technically not against the rules; it falls under the same category as a grandma in a swimsuit, it's unnecessary and few enjoy it but it's under the reader's discretion to go into a thread like that or not. If anything, a rule should perhaps be added that the OP must include a "gore" tag or a "14A" tag or something to warn people beforehand.

From what tha thread imp[lies, gore is "against the rules" except in the spam forum, except I didn't see it written int he "Sythe.org Ruels" thread; Therefore I think that it is, like you said, an unwritten rule.

Why the fuck is gore allowed in the spam forum. I hope that's a misunderstanding and a moderator was trying to imply that no gore was allowed and neglected to read the purpose of the sticky.


edit: The intent of the spam forum isn't to be a 4chan clone, it is simply a thread where people can have off-topic conversations much like a chat room with a lose rule structure to allow people to post more comfortably.

That doesn't mean you disregard the sites standards. If you kids want 4chan, the lurk 4chan.

 

I think you need to calm down, the situation isn't going to blow up Sythe.org. This is just one of those other topics where the third party opinions don't really matter.

The staff will choose a decision that will hopefully benefit the spam forum in the long run. I personally don't see why it shouldn't be allowed, unless it's involving child abuse or porn than there's nothing really wrong with it.

 

I support this. Frankly, gore grosses me out, and if I clicked on a link accidentally, I'd get mad. But I also like Blupig's idea, for the few that enjoy bloody images...

 

I don't mind a bit of gore but i agree a tag should be used for those who are a little squeamish.

 

Even 4chan's rules prohibit persons under the age of 18 from viewing gore as it is only allowed on the adult boards. It is moderated and kept out of all other boards.

The current spam forum does not have an age requirement.

There is a reason pornography is not welcome on this board. It's an issue of standards.

Should this site really have lower standards than 4chan when addressing this issue? Either be uniform on the kind of content that is acceptable and not acceptable or impose an age requirement on the board.

I still don't understand why you are comparing Sythe with 4Chan? Just because the spam forum rules apparently allow gore does not make this 4chan at all whatsoever.

 

I'm comparing the two because 4chan has the lowest standards on the internet and most of the trash that frequents the spam forum seem to get the two websites confused.

Lol. There are so many things wrong with your post.

First) You can't compare gore with pizza... It's not even comparable.

Second) There isn't a big warning saying "Watch out there is a picture with gore in the thread you are about to view". You can't just say "don't look at it", because you don't know if there is going to be gore there or not.

Third) Cry-Babies? I don't know about you, but I don't enjoy seeing some picture with blood/body parts scattered around. Also I think that 99% of the people on these forums would agree with me on that.

I think there should be an official stickied thread in the spam forum. Only in that thread gore can be posted. Anywhere else deleted + ban.

 

I don't agree with Gore being a month long ban, maybe an infraction if it's really bad. If someone is really offended by it then they can just leave the thread or message a moderator asking for it to be removed, etc.

 

This isn't 4chan, and Sythe.org isn't a forum to shock or repulse others - we shouldn't have to worry about venturing in to threads only to find it littered with disturbing imagery. I've gotten in contact with Richard and hope to add this as an offense under the same point as Posting Pornographic Content.
