Is WoW nerdy?

Yeah basically this. The game isn't nerdy at all unless you take time to read the lore and then go to conventions dressed up in costumes as your favorite characters. If you go that far, you're getting into the nerdy zone with this game. But, thankfully most players don't do that and they play the game because it is fun and that type of gameplay appeals to them, and WoW has the best type of game for that gameplay style currently out there. So it can be nerdy and it can't be nerdy, it just matters by how you treat the game tbh.

 

Lore is equivalent to a campaign on a game, It just has a lot more going on.

People see it as nerdy because it has elves, Magic and dragons.

The game does not make you nerdy or cool, it's you. However, if you had played 24/7, then it would be a different story.

Parents can more so be dorky.. not really nerdy I'd say.

Certainly not the nerdy i believe he's talking about in this thread. I think he's referring to stereotypical nerdy..

IE: Pale scronny ( or over weight ), glasses, braces, spends all day on WoW or something.

In reality, most people that are nerdy, are NOT like that at all lol.

 

Oh, I know some nerdy parents. And their kids are the same exact way - tends to happen. :love:

 

I don't consider it nerdy...I don't play, but I am what I would call "accepted in society" and I personally don't look at people that play WoW nerds...

 

I think, I think the oppisite of most people, the average player who just levels to 80 or whatever is nerdy, people who play PvP against other players, required skills, and you can win money ,

I played for iNspire, in the European 5v5 Search and Destory Hardcore 4th Round Championships, which we won that make me nerdy! Cod4>WoW (less nerdyness)

 

Personally I don't really consider it nerdy if you are just on 1-3 hours a day. But there are those people who are addicted to it (I used to be), Who play easily 7+ hours a day. But you can also blame TV shows such as southpark that add a stereotype to those who play the game. This causes other people who don't play WOW to think that everyone who plays it is addicted to it and have no lives.

 

Southpark they just sterotyped those gammers who sit all day gettin the best gear, all achivments, and 100,000 pvp kills,

the average player is 13-25 single, male, unemployed, living with mum
