Sythe being DDOS?

Is it just me or is sythe inaccessible at times and runs really slow..?
I think the forums are being attacked by DDOS.

DDOSing can't misconfigure the server, and I've been seeing 500s all day.

Interestingly, whenever I see a 500 error, ServerSpy reports that Sythe.org is running on lighttpd, but whenever the site is working, ServerSpy reports that Sythe.org is running on Apache.

Maybe Sythe's host was experimenting with switching server software? I would ask him but he's not on MSN at the moment.

 

Mhmm, nope I think it's being a ddos. DDos can miscanfigure the server as it a ddos attack floods the servers with a bunch of different ips preventing illegitimate users from connecting, and so the 500 error means that your ip has been blocked along with the other ips that have been flooding the servers in the attack.

 

whenever its down (like 30 min ago) i checked on downforeveryoneorme or something and it said the whole site was down, maybe smr is right

Please read the post above you, Sythe has dictated the reason.

I guess its a problem when such forum makes enemies.

 

I'm sure there was a reward for catching the DDosers...:.

 

This is happening for a long time now. I don't see it change anytime soon.

 

I used to not be able to connect to the site, but now I never get that problem. The site does slow down sometimes but it's not bad at all for me.

 

The site will slow down now and then. You guys are lucky you weren't here 6 - 12 months ago.....

Sythe has put a lot of dedication into keeping the site running faster and smoother.

 

I was here, and they blocked my country's ip's.
When i asked WTF ? sythe told me that he had evidence that someone under my country's ip was atacking the site, so they just banned all the ip's.
GG ME.
Then after a while ( months) they unbanned them.
Fucking DDOSers, wasting their lives attacking a site its just sad.

 

The fact that the site is only running slowly due to these attacks is incredible, like someone said, 6-12 months ago, and a lot of time before that, seemed like Sythe had a 75% uptime due to these attacks. Be happy you're only dealing with some 500s and a slow loading page.

 

Sythe gets DDoS'd all the time..

 

Happened to Rsbot.com two days ago too, site was down for aprox 24 hours.
although i dont think it was DDoS

 

Counted on how long it takes for the page to fully load for me: 14 seconds. Other sites: 2 seconds.

 

With the multitude of shell booters and dossers on the very open, very reasonably priced market today, I wouldn't be surprised. Don't give yourself too much credit though guys, it isn't like people are banding together to hit this site offline, it's just skiddys who got a hold of some strong shells.

There are dos resistant hosts and servers in existence though, Sythe.
