Freeing names, how long?

Ok, say I have this account and I want its display name. I change its name once. Then on the date I can change the name again, I change it. Does the original display name become free the moment I change the accounts display name the second time or what?

Immediate, after you change it 2nd time, you can change on another acc at same time.

 

I don't get it though because you still log in with the original account name, right?

 

you have to wait 56 days, 28 for the display to change and another 28 for it to change the known as ``____`` when you hover over their name on your friends list

 

Orginal display name: God
Change to: Roflcandy543
Last known as: God

Can change again in 28 days...

Display Name: Roflcandy543
Change to: Jbh6453
Last known as: Roflcandy543

So now the name God would be free? This only takes 28 days no?

The second you change it the second time BANG its free so change it quickly.
Don't tell anyone your changing it, keep private off.

 

Yeah I knew that. Okay I get it now you cant then make a user with that name, you can only change an existing user to the newly 'available' name.

Or you can make a bad name and jagged will make you change it again. It's alot faster!

 

Nah, I'd rather be patient and change it myself. That way I know exactly when I need to change my name and be online. If I leave it to Jagex, then its kind of up to chance as to when they'll change it, how long before name is nicked.
