Well, that's kind of a separate issue. But I'd assume that most people banned for scamming are reported in the report a scammer section and there is an archive for it: http://www.sythe.org/forumdisplay.php?f=372. You could just search the archive for the persons name or MSN to see if they were banned for scamming.

I have been reported many times however they were proven false. Thats where the public list comes into play which is not a separate issue because this would remove the drama which comes from private ban reasons as discussed in this thread. Basically kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Since according to the OP we have to have friends in high places or kiss ass 24/7 to become a moderator I'd like a full review of my 3k posts.......you wont find anything so dont bother looking.

I didn't even know/ever spoke to over 85% of the mods at the time when I was modded.

Considering the majority of staff and users thought I was a guy when I first became a graphics mod...

I think the main problem with the staff and the view of the staff is that people look at it and try to aim for that because of fame and making money because of your title. I think people need to change their view of the staff to people who are working their ass off to help and improve the site, nothing more. Once people understand that becoming staff is about helping the site and not just to look good and be pride full of your rank and perms then I think the drama will slowly start to disintegrate. Just my 2 cents take it how you wish.

With regards to the 'making money because of your title' thing, I've never been given a single cent from any Sythe user.

The staff aren't paid, so they are entitled to make whatever money they can by offering private services such as MMing to sythe.org users, so long as this does not conflict with their duties. They are also entitled to take personal donations, provided they don't give preferential treatment as a result of these donations.

As to the "drama problem", the staff really have only the power to exclude people from the site. We do this to keep the site clear of scammers and nasty people, to the best of our ability. If you don't like the site's policies then by all means, find another site.

I've never seen a forum who has such a dependency on who gets moderator. It's like getting moderator on this forum is a goal for some. I can understand the benefits, I just don't understand what the big deal is about a person who gets access to a private lounge and can move and lock threads. Rarely do you see people here who are here just for the sake of enjoying the discussion. I'll admit I've wanted moderator in the past, but it's only a phase I went through. In my opinion, being moderator is no longer about helping the site, but merely personal satisfaction. At the same time, I don't think we should criticize moderators over every little debacle that occurs on the site. At least not openly. The PM system is a great way to resolve conflict, or alternatives such as IM. Taking problems to open forums or IRC channels is only damaging the site.

    From the other thread.

I'd also like to say Hahanerd was wrong in closing that thread. Bubba fuzz asked me where he should post it, and I directed him to the spam forum because I realized it being there would cause the least amount of damage or "drama". Leaving it there would have prevented it dragging into here.

Also, I'd just like to point out, from my experience on Sythe.
    a) If you like a moderator, you're a suck up.
    b) If you disrespect a moderator, you're a drama whore
    c) If you stay out of everything, you're a nobody

I offered to help out a few users while Spyikes original donation service was closed. I only took in $30 at that time. I was going to mail it in but then saw spyikes service was starting again so I held off and sent it through him. All 6 users got their $5 ranks without problems. This was before I was a mod.

I was referred by a member once again today to help somebody out who wanted to donate via paypal. Is this against what you were saying with staff taking donations? I do it very rarely but don't mind to help out a few people once in awhile.

Never said that. It is easier to make money on the site though with a rank ( not abuse or anything, but I never brought that up. )

You DON'T have to kiss ass, but many people in high places have. I'm not bashing here just stating the simple fact that MANY of the moderators had (beforehand) and have been friends with people in high places.

I'm not complaining about the money issue, I'm complaining about the drama that's going on and the "clicks" that happen.

I don't want to find another site; I love sythe and really, am not a negative person. I do understand they do there job, but banning a contributing member because they have committed a MINOR offense is stringent and uncalled for.

I closed the thread on Spyike's request. He didn't want anymore attention surrounding his requested ban.
