What is your approach towards college? Do you see it as something to seriously prepare for or a needless continuation at the expense of your parents or yourself?

Which colleges are you planning to apply to?

My problem: I can't decide whether I want to pursue a career in medicine or in law. I like both equally well but I also want to make a lot of money. As of today, the Obama health care might ruin the salaries of doctors, so I've heard (I'm not very observant of politics). What do you think I should do? Which colleges do you think I should apply for in each field?

Personally, I am pursuing a career in the medical field as an anesthetist assistant.

I plan to apply to all the ivy league schools(of course),University of Tennessee, and Duke University.(my in-state colleges)

I feel that it is necessary because in Highschool/Middle school you don't learn specifics about the field you want to go into, however in College you do and you can focus on that one career rather than a huge variety.

I'm trying to apply to UCSB, UCB, and UCP. I'm going to major either in business administration or marketing.

I got interest from schools for athletics last year. I just need to see how my junior year plays out.

I see college as something to prepare for i guess, definitely not something to do and waste money. I am actually pumped on university next year because there you're taking something you actually want to be doing, i don't see how anyone could go there and be wasting there money.

If i decide to go into criminology, i will be going to SMU, if i go into business i'm not really sure :/

Also if i were you i would go with law because i personally would hate that feild, but it really comes down to what you would personally rather do with your life. Also i know what you mean about the money thing, that's why i'm stuck. Both sound interesting to me but criminology sounds better, but business i would probably make more, so I'm torn lol.

asking for advice on this forum won't bring you good answer IMO. Those question should be asked to a career manager

I'd suggest staying in state... or else you'll spend your whole life away before you even work.

I don't see college a waste, I'm planning on learning something to do with computers. web development or software dev. idk yet. senior atm

I'm currently in my Sophomore year of High school and striving hard to get a scholarship for basketball. As of where im at now... I could more than likely get a D-2 scholarship, but i am most definitely working hard for a D-1.

Ugh :/ seeing how some of you are trying to go to Harvard, Yale, Stanford, or MIT makes me wish I could redo my entire school career just to work toward going to one of those colleges.

Yeah they are some pretty good colleges, but there are some smart people on this site so I wouldn't say they can't make it. Where do you attend college?
