questions for christians :S

I dont know much about religion so to christians here I have questions involving god, hell and atheism.

Lets say there was a man. He didn't believe in god but he was a good man who donated to charities and lived like a monk and spended his life helping man-kind.
Now at the end of his life and on judgement day is he sent to hell or heaven?

Also would a buddhist be sent to hell for not believing in jesus?

 

All unbelievers will go to hell, and don't ask me why I didn't make the rules.

I also want to put in that you clearly have such a base and pseudo understanding of religion and God. Think about it indepently for once.

Yes it is fair you don't have to be a try hard Christian church goer to end up in heaven you just need the faith and understanding that there is a God.

 

This is exactly why I refuse to believe there is a God.

If he loves us, he would not punish us for simply not believing, or even being neutral on the situation. It seems very hypocritical to me.

 

Christians are very heavy believers and make the whole concept ignorant and retarded. I take from the beliefs but interpret them in my own way. If a man was to do that i believe Jesus would respect and cherish all this man has done and accept him regardless his beliefs. No matter what or who you are jesus was a loving man. His whole concept to me, idc bout you dull bible readers, is to give bread to another in need. So in general help others to the best of your ability. The man cherished everyone, so forget this danm extremist believing bullshit. 75% of Christians are insane and love to push on their religion on others, i say fuck most of them.

 

I'm sure you already know the answer to that, and it's obvious where this thread will go.. It's just pointless to even talk about this because both sides will just ignore each other for being stupid/ignorant/not understanding. I consider most of these "Religion must be destroyed! it's the source of everything evil in this world!"-people who are liberals and atheists and will never ever shut up about it way more annoying and ridiculous than the average muslim or christian, but I guess that's just me.

If you just read the 10 Commandments you will understand why if you don't believe in god/jesus then your not following his 'rules'

But I don't think that if you don't believe in him but do have a wholesome life (not having disrespect to other religions) you will still go to heaven.

OT: This is exactly why I'm not a Christian. If God truly existed, he would need to realize that not EVERY good person in this world is going to believe in him. He needs to realize that not EVERY Christian ACTUALLY believes in what they mindlessly repeat.

I know athiests that are much more kind, help more people, and are an overall better person than MANY Christians in my local church.

The only way God will ever consider you to get into heaven is if you believe that Christ is your Lord and Savior, etc. Then, he judges your character.

 

As said above, the only way to get into heaven is to believe in God. After that, you need to be a good person and such...


it's impossible to answer your question because i don't know what happens when you die. I do believe in God, but a lot of the religious stuff doesn't make sense.

 

Yes, he or she would still be going to hell. Being a good is great, but what are your motives behind doing it? It's obviously not trying to honor God, so what's it for? To make yourself feel good? To try to make yourself look like a better person? Being a, "good guy" doesn't make up for being ignorant.

Let's assume you'll be a parent one day. If your 2 year old son breaks something, you'll do what? Punish him, not because you hate him, but because you love him enough that you want to teach him to behave. So, seeing as God's our father, wouldn't it seem logical that he punish his children, not out of anger or hate, but out of love?

If you're both Christians, look at the way you're talking to each other? Lol, like, really now guys. One of you is pissed at the other for not backing up his statement with evidence, and the other is pissed at the other for being pissed.

I find it ironic that you're saying God doesn't realize things. If God created you, and you THINK you realize this, wouldn't God know it? And I agree with your second point, it really is sad to see.

It's not simply believing God exists, lots of people do that. It's believing that God sent his son, Jesus, who died for our sins, and loving him for it. Good works has absolutely nothing to do with it.

 

It isn't about being good. You could not go to church your whole life and be one of the biggest murders of all time. But aslong as you TRUELY believe in god and know what he did and why he died etc, and actually try to be better. That's how you will be rewarded with heaven. Same for the other way. You could have cured cancer and saved billions of lives, donated all your money to charity, etc but if you don't know for a fact that jesus died for you and you accept him then you will not even have an arguement not to go to hell.

 

All religions are ignorant, end of story. There's always that one thing that can contradict the other, or that one thing that seems a little fishy. If God was truly balanced and just, he wouldn't send all of his creations to hell simply for not thinking he exists. Ideas like that are clearly made up by man as an "advertising" scheme: "If you don't buy me lunch, I'll beat you to death."

Religion should be 100% about faith, believing and being happy. Christianity and many other deity-centric religions tend to keep their devotees through fear which is not what religion is supposed to be.

I'm personally an atheist because in my mind I know for a fact that all religious tales are nothing more than complex children's stories with strange morals to strike fear in and discriminate those the writers/people of the same generation saw as villainous.
