[Denied] Make CDT Events a banner advertisement at the top of the site

Im a little surprised there arent more vennies and other people participating for Sythes giveaways and events. Maybe make the CDT events banner advertisements at the top of the website. Not everybody is paying attention to discord notifications alot of us have that on mute.

I've heard the banners get as many clicks as CDT events also, but don't quote me on that.

But i agree there should be some new specific banner dedicated to events somewhere visible in the forums (Maybe even a pop-up when entering a site, if there's an event?)

I agree that something like this should be added. CDT events could use more participation and advertising it on the site would surely attract more people.

From a perspective of proportionality, the lost amount from a potential paid banner in exchange for the CDT spot is not justified for the website owner. He does not gain as much as he loses out on. No support

I don’t see this passing due to what President stated above.

It would be nice if we could implement a discord @ role style ping, where users could opt into a '@ CDT Event' and be notified via Sythe when that role is tagged in a thread - but that as well as the above mentioned suggestion would likely have to be implemented by @Matthew, if passed.

There is plenty of room at the Header of the site for a "Smaller CDT Banner, or Events Banner" in the middle. Everything doesn't have to be about profit. Sites one big advertisement for Discord anyway (No Profit in that).

Make another banner, or some kind of drop-down popup or something. Im not saying completely replace the current banners or use them to advert.

What a stupid fucking response. He didn’t say remove all paid banners and replace with CDT. Next time read the fucking suggestion you donkey. Maybe a mass PM when CDT events are happening? That will suffice.

As @President has mentioned already, the top banners sell for a large chunk. If Sythe could allow for more room without making it cluttered i'm sure he would have taken the opportunity already to add another banner, as the top banners are sold as an auction style listing. With how much these people pay for the top banner, I don't see it being to fair to sell another spot up top for what they donate to the community for prizes which is normally only a small fraction of what the top banners would pay. Though I could see him maybe supporting the bottom advertisements as those banners stay in the $hundreds range. At the end of the day though, this would be a matthew and sythe problem. And to be brutally honest, ill end with check the Pending Suggestions

I don't really have much of a preference here, but I would say that the header is cluttered enough for my taste. I don't want to add more to it. We could consider showing a CDT banner randomly in place of one of the other banners, but that would probably require us to adjust our pricing/arrangements with our banner buyers.

Maybe there's a way we can add it to the main landing page? We have the blue bar at the top with popular sections, maybe we can add CDT there. Or we can add a link in the top category to CDT...

Ultimately we'll need to see what @Sythe thinks as it relates to banners.

Why dont you guys just replace the Welcome banner with a CDT ad for people who are registered? https://i.imgur.com/Kw0JEom.png looks like the Sign Up banner is hidden when you log in. Just fill it with different text and a link to the CDT advert?

Why not distribute targeted mass alerts every now and then when there’s an event. That would be far better than a banner.
