They should not be allowed here if they were proven to be a scammer on another site.
Think of it this way, if someone kills someone in another country, then moves to your country, do you think your country will just allow him to "restart?"
    no.

I wish you people would read the questions... Is scamming the only offence that should be bannable if it was done in the past?

And, that analogy isn't correct. Murder != stealing. Sythe != a country. We are a community and want to build a better community.

I agree with this and... Phishing is to easy to protect yourself, Dos and DDos are a different thing... and bot nets and such could kill someones computer... I think that who ever you were in the past if you changed its a constant battle to stay corrected and not do it again... just voicing my opinion but one bad almost always they have some bad in them...

I couldn't agree more. If you ban a user without giving them a chance, I'd be willing to bet that they will more than likely evade and cause more problems.

What? DDos attacks do not even require an account so banning people for having one in the past doesn't help.

    Why?

    Exactly.

Completely agree. If someone is banned and they know they were wrong usually they will just suck it up. If you ban someone for something they did a year ago and they see it as bullshit(because it is) they're just gonna make a new account or take their anger on the site. Like Suf said, they dont need an acct to use their botnet on the server

I agree with him because something as serious as owning a botnet should be warranted with a ban.

Right. Pissing people off is never good for the site and many of the so called "filth" that people think do all sorts of shit thats bad for Sythe only turned bad after they knew they could never come back to Sythe for not much of anything.

How does banning a person with a botnet help anyone?

I support this especially if they confessed to it.

Why should be? Them having owned a botnet in the past doesn't mean they own one now. Banning them just makes them mad and will cause they to fight against us. Keeping them with us will give us a potentially valuable community member who knows about botnets and such and could potentially help.

Right. Confessing or admitting to doing it in the past is the main way people find out what people have done in the past and currently they can get banned for it and its really not fair.

I really don't think comparing reality to an online chat forum thats filled with douche bags and 13 year olds is irrelevant. As for someone being banned for something they did in the past I think it determines on what it was, if they have proved their trust worthiness and good character since the actions took place then maybe a TWC and a market ban would suffice.

Why would a TWC and market ban be used for someone who used to phish?

Usually "phishing" leads to stealing someone else's property which is a form of scamming, if I am incorrect I do apologize.

It is stealing. But how would a market ban help anyone at all if the person used to phish?

Well if someone used to "phish" I think that shows pure judgment and choices that the individual "use to" make which sometimes not all the time they're able to grow out of anyone can just say they quit cold turkey but how honestly can you determine that on the internet. A market ban and a TWC would be a very generous punishment rather than a perm ban, it would also make it a lot easier for them to keep in contact with all of their friends.

As far as I know we are already pretty liberal with the "stuff before Sythe". But some things demonstrate poor character and continued danger to others, and for those we ban.
