    How to use a VPN(PPTP)

A VPN is a virtual private network, it's used to basically change your IP, you can get a static one(the IP never changes) or a dynamic one(the IP changes every re-connect).

You can buy these VPNs from a lot of hosting sites.

If you do buy one you'll usually get something like this:
    VPN server: connect.xxxxx.net (PPTP)
    connect-openvpn.xxxxx.net (OpenVPN)
    Username: nqntexxx
    Password: NsF6hvwwaxxx
(I blanked out some stuff because the VPN is active atm.)I will cover PPTP.

    PPTP:

You will first have to proceed to: Network Connections

Then you will have to open the "Create a new connection" wizard.

You'll see 4 options pick "Connect to the network at my workplace"

    Then choose "Virtual Private Network"

When it asks for Company Name, just put anything

Then choose "Do not dial the initial connection"

Then put in whatever the IP was.

Then if you want a desktop shortcut just check that box.

Now is the easy part, now you should have something called VPN in your "Network Connections" folder.

Now double click it and you should get a screen like this:

Now just enter your credentials and you will get a new icon in your task bar:

    You're done.

Nice, very detailed guide. A lot of people are confused what a VPN is and how to use it.

Lots of picture for each step. Good job mate. I think you should add some common prices of VPNs and popular websites to purchase them.

They can range from anywhere between $1 to $30, so it wouldn't be very definitive.

Wow, when you told me you were going for UE I was a little hesitant, however this guide is very good. It looks great and explains everything in-depth. I look forward to you completing the rest of your application ;)
