When do you think Runescape will end?

It ended for me 1 year ago.

 

When someone files a lawsuit against Jagex for all the bad things they've done.

 

2014.

 

It won't end as long as they keep making decent money off of it. Once the money pool starts to dry out, it'll disappear. You all forget that they did a huge recoding migration from RSC to RS2 and could still do the same in the future to a brand new engine with brand new mechanics and graphics (RS3). By then it would probably no longer be a web game though, most likely something like WoW that you play off your physical computer memory.

 

I think it will last AT LEAST another 10 years. By then I will have quit though.

 

Doubt it will, Jagex are making way to much $$$.

And If it does it will turn out like RSC. and they will focus on Funorb!

It can go for a while longer. They have the money to pay developers to create all the updates for them. What would kill it is if they sold their company or rights to the game or something.

what i think will happen is that when jagex realease their first version of mechscape or whatever their next mmorpg is most developers and other parts of jagexteam will move over to the new mmorpg. runescape will lose quite a few members, worlds will be closed down, less frequent updating etc etc.

who knows when they decide to release a new mmorpg. im guessing when runescape gets a bit out of hand (too much to control?), too expensive to keep running compared to members. they will eventually need to release something new.

blupig: wouldnt releasing updated graphics be a bit too much? i mean it will take them years to move over their existing game, instead they will work on something new and do stuff they could never do on runescape (no idea what, but runescape has too many limitations).
