[Good Quality] How to resize a GIF File [Good Quality]

Introduction

Hey people of Sythe! I've actually made this guide because many people don't know how to do this and 150x150 is the maximum width and height you can have as your avatar if you are a donor or staff. I am aware that there are guides already on this subject but I have my own personal method. This guide is useful for Donors and Mods. Read through the guide carefully.


Step One



First of all, you will need a GIF Image, I recommend the following websites for finding a good GIF Image :

• http://www.gifs.net
• http://www.gifmania.co.uk
• http://www.sevenoaksart.co.uk/

When you find the GIF you like, right click the Image then click Save Image As.






Make sure the File Extension is set to GIF File (.gif)






Step Two


Now, you will need to download the GIF Resizer, so then you can resize the Image with ease using this application. The GIF Resizer can be downloaded by clicking here. Once the file download is complete, double click GifResizer.






Step Three


The GIF Resizer application will be present on your screen. This is where the GIF Resizing happens!


First, you will need to browse the GIF File by clicking the button next to the Source box.





After you open the GIF Image, the Width, Height and Frames are automatically fixed. You can see the GIF Image is too large and you might get infracted that's why we need to resize it.





Next, you will need to fix where the New Resized GIF will be saved and the file name. After this, you will need to untick 'Keep Aspect' and tick 'Good Quality (Slower)'. You will need to adjust the Width to 150 and the Height to 100, then click Resize.







Step 4

Now, you will need to upload the image using http://www.tinypic.com.

Click Choose file, then go to the location of the Resized GIF you saved and click open.






Now, copy the IMG Code.






Step 5


As you can't upload it directly by yourself, you will need to contact a Global Moderator, the Mods and Admins can be found here. There will be a section for Global Mods






Now, Click 'Send PM' to a Mod that is Online and don't be rude as they don't have to do this for you. In the Private message, copy the IMG Code from Tinypic which you did in an earlier step. After that, click send and be patient.
