i did not refer to the planet, of course there will be huge consequences as a result of this disaster but im talking about the way BP and similiar companies will carry on their activities in the future, and how the government will do nothing to curb on this behaviour

How can you possibly blame Mr Obama for this one?

Our societies demand oil, and lots of it. It has to come from somewhere, and as my suck it out is has to come from deeper and deeper. We also like to pay the least possible for it.

So what happens when oil is taken from deeper and deeper for the cheapest price?

I'm not sure if it's necessarily 'censorship'. The American media just tends to be soft when showing any sort of potentially depressing image.

I'm not alone. I was going to point this out but not everyone would understand anything about the carbon tax.

And this is not Obama's fault, after all he is just a puppet and does not make any of the decisions.

No. If the main stream media was given the okay to show these images they would. They are desperate for viewers. The main stream media is dying because people are starting to wake up and find true information on the web. That's why the government is trying to censor the web under the "cyber security act".

i heard a thing where they put a bale of hay and put it in an oil-water mix and it seemed to filter it really well, and we are spending money on a huge oil burning rig, my question is why spending a load of money on something that isnt very effective and cost loads when they could buy a bunch of hay and filter everything out

So that people don't riot when they find out that they made a cut in the pipe, well knowing the chance of stopping the spill THAT way was miniscule at best, widening the hole by 20%. On top of that, SURPRISE, it didn't work. The cut was irregular, so their cap didn't fit.

That's why the USA is covering it up.

    BP have promised $20,000,000,000...

They shouldn't have. Every disaster that American companies are to blame for they pull in their lawyers and make sure they don't have to pay a penny.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhopal_disaster

20,000 people died. The American company paid squat.

Also, Obama 'Bin Laden' shouldn't be saying he knows who's "ass to kick" over all this. He should be worried about the clean up, and not pissing off the only country that supports him. £1 in £7 of British pensions find their way from BPs shares becasue it's such a successful company lots of other companies invest in it. Basically, if Obama 'Bin Laden' makes BP go under and keeps covering up his mistakes by saying it was BPs fault, the Biritsh economy would screw up even more than it is now. What the best way for the Brits to save money? First off, pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan, and leave Obama 'Bin Laden' too it.

Apparently, more oil is spilt every 3 months in the Niger Delta, than the current oil spill in the gulf.

BP is responsible for this so they are going to pay for it. They weren't going to get away. I'm not going to lie, more and more people are becoming push overs. However a lot of American will protest and if the government does nothing about it they will start a big boycott against BP.

I really think that this has become the worst thing ever and the best example of how human beings have ruined Earth itself. We overpowered ourselves and now we're a destructive yet still primative race. How can we live watching other animals die and wipe it off our conscience. I think that seeing animals, which have done nothing wrong to us, die due to Human's over populated under caring hunt for power and fame.

New news: In an effort to get rid of the oil in the gulf they have shrimping boats going about rounding up oil by skimming the top of the water and setting large concentrations of this on fire. This means that all the sea life that gets caught up in this rounding process essentially gets burned alive....

How do you guys expect 1 president to fix the whole damn crisis in 4 years, after ages of ridiculous corruption that wasn't controlled? Plus everyone is saying big business owns America, and they there all working against him. So its not like he could just wave his magic wand and get whatever the hell he wants done. God..

On-topic: Screw oil, ethanol is the answer, no? I mean look at brazil. Their gas stations supply only ethanol and they are 100% green. The cars their run only on ethanol and everything is in tact. Its humiliating to the states, but they still are selling there damn oil and gas, i mean why not? Who doesn't want free money..

Then Obama shouldn't have made all those promises he can't keep. All governments are corrupts.

Your obviously an Obama fanboy. Most Democrats aren't happy with him (except the black people)

I'm not black and I'm not sure if I'm a fanboy though. I think he is unlike most presidents, he's different and i trusted him and i know he can do what he promised to, but he has a hell of a lot of obstacles in the way, like the 90% corrupt people in office, who will do anything they can to stop him. And they are the reason why our country are failing and out small glimpses of hope are shot down, such as Obama. I can safely say that he most likely won't be elected during the next election though, since people want things done right now and right there.

And lots of governments are corrupt, but not all of them? America wouldn't be here if all governments are corrupt and I have a lot of faith in Europe's new governments, since they know what to do and when. They also know what people to elect. Watch the Euro news sometimes and i bet you'd be surprised with what you'll see.
