    Justification for Botting

Whilst this is being posted in RS cheating - and thus most will share my opinion - there are a very vocal handful of you who vehemently oppose botting. Usually, their arguments are one or more of the following:
    1. Botting is unfair to the players who play 'legit'.
    2. Botting ruins the economy.
    3. Botting is against Jagex's rules, so it is bad.
So, I will answer these questions, for those of you who oppose botting.
    1. How is it unfair? Most botters are not 'lazy' as is commonly regurgitated, but simply either cannot dedicate the time or the attention to RuneScape that the game demands. It takes 400 hours for 99 Magic, and much more in many other skills. The game is too tedious. We happily bot the 'grind', i.e. repeating the same boring tasks over and over, in order to manually experience the good content in the game.
    2. I see the potential logic behind this, but can this claim be substantiated with evidence or proof?
    3. This is just a crappy appeal to authority.
Well, so, tell me: Why is botting wrong? I'm aiming this for a specific audience, so please don't just post if you agree. I want to hear counter-arguments.

    1. Well, clearly, this is untrue, as the bots are still profiting from it. If it was unprofitable, the bots would move elsewhere.
    2. Absolutely not. The bots are only used to bypass the tedious content. What fun is there staring at your character repetitively do the same exact fucking motions for 400+ hours? It's boring, and no sane player considers this 'fun'.

There's a stage it becomes a real problem. The truth is the time it takes and the ways you need to get experience are just ridiculous. Noone could actually get enjoyment out of clicking on some boring shit all day...
    Botting should be done!

How is it taking the fun out of the game ? The botter is botting for themselves ; Not anybody else .
Don't you think they wouldn't bot if it was taking the fun out of it ?

The only thing I find wrong about botting is that everyone would have divines, ags, claws in wildee and have maxed stats if they allowed botting. They may as well give you any items and stats you want if they allowed botting. Making the game more boring, why would you even bother doing armadyl, bandos etc. The only fun thing would be pking and maybe a few other minigames.

    I totally agree.

Another argument for the classic ''it ruins the game for others'' is, botters often ruin the whole SW experience for legit players. I SW 100% legit and bots are often the cause behind less competitive teams and I can't begin to tell how many times my team has lost because of bots running around like headless chickens. A SW game is often one-sided because of bots who don't help out the avatar they just run into the open and die for higher activity levels rather than swarm opposition with legit players. Bots make SW suck for other players who want competitive teams on both sides.

It is unfair (as mentioned above, in wildy)
Also, RS Botters are people that like to play runescape, but cant be arched training, so they are not addicted.

I'm in PMOD CC's (mainly as an anti-ban) and I see that those nonbotting high lev's are addicted people, who actually enjoy doing thinks like agility.

    How?

Before you say red chins- it's supply AND demand- the cheaper they get the higher demand gets until they reach a stable price. They will never get ridiculously cheap because they are the fastest way to train range.

They also keep the price of dbones from getting exorbitant by increasing the supply- do you really think they should cost much more than they already do?

No. I know quite a few botters, and I've never seen any camping tds with me. More people trying to buy them would just drive the price up, and to hunt td's requires quite a bit of legit playing, so its biased towards non-botters. Also have you ever tried to get a divine? Corp is extremely difficult to solo, and even then the chance of getting a divine is 1/2.5-3k. They are just about impossible to get on the GE and it takes months of losing money on supplies to get one from LS or FFA.

It doesn't destroy the 'strong' economy like wc and fish but it does destroy the moneymaking methods:
Tanner, Flaxer, Goats, fruits, orbs, potato catcus (goin up again, script broken?), more?

It actually does the opposite. Without botters, the prices of fish, wood, runes, ore, etc would inflate to a much much higher price.

So let me get this straight, botting so that you don't have to do the tedious and repetitive tasks account of they are boring and take too much time isn't the same thing as being lazy? You're using this as an argument? If anything this would be an argument on how botters are lazy.

Truthfully, sitting around alching is not what I call fun, I would much rather be outside playing sports and such while the bot would alch for me. I don't consider myself lazy, just spending my time wisely.

Actually it wouldn't ruin the economy if no one botted and it doesn't help it with prices. If no one botted all the prices for everything would go up because of less supply. Then you could mine, kill drags etc and the price will basically be the same because everything has gone up including the cash you earn. Simple economics kind of like how inflation has occured in the world.

I think of botting as just speeding up the process, i mean honestly who wants to spend hours training when they can bot then just pk? The only reason "legit" players dont like botters are there jealous, thats that.
