Tell me that force is warranted. Who knows how often that happens but goes unrecorded. Legalize and stop the violence. Truly an atrocity and makes one wonder what has come of this once just nation.

 

If marijuana was legalized, the price would go down. The government would reap some money from taxes (good or bad thing). People would stop being slipped laced weed, and violence would go down.

I don't believe it should be legalized, but used for actual chronic pain. Not oh i break my arm i need a license, but legitimate imminent death from cancer it should be used. Police should have more evidence, but the public doesn't complain when lack of evidence brings down a large drug bust and brings millions of drugs off the street. There are large busts and there are ones that do not come to the surface. There is a balance.

 

Watch the whole movie "The Union" all of the parts. By far the best pot documentry ive ever watched. You'll like it. Explains everything.

 

The problem with legalizing this plant is that the government could 'not' make any paper money from it, not because they could. Let's all admit, the government is ran by the minds of crooks and the less intelligence of the wealthy, so anything that would not benefit them is out of the question.

Is it just me or did the video say the warrant was for drugs, not just pot. For all we know someone could have told the police there was two kilos of cocaine in that house, which is much more serious than pot.. I don't see how you're using this video to back up legalising pot?

I dont agree with the amount of force the police used in this case, but only because they didn't observe the house for a while before, like they normally do. More often than not, the police will need to use this much force when busting a drug dealer, and tbh, I'd prefer they got it wrong once or twice than them going in soft on dealers.

Also, legalising pot, no matter how much a few teenagers complain about it on an internet forum, the governments won't legalise it.

 

Have you seen The Union or How Weed Won the West? Honestly, I used to think it'd be illegal forever but now I'm not sure.

Drugs make me feel uncomfortable. The only thing pot will bring is chaos. Pot is a gateway drug, individual surveys they presented to us in school during D.A.R.E. programs taught us that. Imagine a new mother too stoned to feed her newly born sun. It's seriously a tragedy, and it's dangerous for everyone.

imo, i would rather be driving in the car with someone drunk then stoned.

 

Pot is as much of a gateway to harder drugs as milk is to alcohol. The only way that pot is a gateway drug is through its illegality. There is nothing in the chemical makeup of the marijuana plant that makes people want to try harder drugs. However, as marijuana is currently illegal, it is sold by people who sell other illegal drugs: such as cocaine and heroin. These people are looking to make money, and will often times offer free drugs to people hoping to get them hooked - and if they have dealt to whomever they are selling to before then there is a very good chance that will happen. If pot becomes legal, then there will be no more buying from dealers, thus no connection between pot and harder drugs.

1 out of every 97 marijuana users has tried cocaine, and less than one has tried heroin. How that shows a correlation to marijuana use leading to an increase in other drug use I really don't know.

I have never heard of that happening. I've smoked pot many times, and I've never felt in a position where I would ignore someone who was hurt or who I needed to take care of. However, the chances of that happening when you are drunk are alot higher - and alcohol is legal.

Enjoy dying then. Alcohol has a much higher effect on your cognitive abilities than marijuana does, as well as a much higher effect on your motor skills. While being under the influence of marijuana obviously has an effect, it is much smaller than the effect that alcohol has.

Exactly, The only reason marijuana is not legal is because the government couldn't make money off of it. The same people who are out here selling marijuana right now are still going to be selling it and the government is going to get 0% of the drug dealers money. Even if they do open dispensaries and whatnot there still is going to be even more people just growing in their houses for personal use and drug dealers still selling from their houses and on street corners. For example...In california, there are dispensaries but there are people who grow their own then sell the excess at cannabis clubs and get 100% of the money with no taxes involved. That is all.

 

As long as the taxes are not insane, like $250 an ounce or something insane like that, then its pretty likely that the government would get tax money. I know I would much rather buy from a store than from some guy, even if by buying from that guy I could save more money. And I doubt that people selling at cannabis clubs don't pay taxes unless they are selling to non-license holders.
