Allow DNT to PM staff

Not everyone uses discord and we shouldn't have to leave the site to be able to communicate with staff. That goes for everyone IMO.

 

I like this point. Not all users on Sythe use discord, and it is not in the rules that you need a discord account. To accommodate those users, they should be allowed to private message staff.

 

I think the majority of things should be able to be dealt on Sythe. I don't see a reason to go off-site to get in touch/assistance from staff. It should be accessible within Sythe, cause it's here we operate. Not discord.

I don't think DNT users should have to leave Sythe.org to contact staff members with questions. The abuse argument really just doesn't hold any weight either, IMO. Seems like a bogus excuse.

I 100% support this suggestion, so long as it's something easy to implement / feasible.

 

Unsure of the logic here, but the same applies for the inverse. Why are we actively encouraging users to move away from this website? PM's are the primary and original method of communication.

Furthermore, arguing that a user who is trying to have their DNT resolved, would actively sabotage their own DNT removal is comical at best.

Also, all that's required is @Sythe adding in PM permissions for DNT users in ACP.

See above. DNT users can spam you on discord far easier, than this website. This abuse argument is antiquated and has no merit.

The current stance is, 'PM staff on Discord', 'PM's will get abused'. How does allowing DNT users to PM staff members increase the rate of potential abuse, when said abuse is far more easier to carry out via Discord? The current argument is PM's can be abused, assumedly because it's somehow easier to do so than discord. Which to me, makes absolutely zero sense.

Secondly, why would we actively encourage users to NOT use this website.

 

What surprises me the most is the fact that so much energy is put in this discussion in contrast to other suggestions, because I believe that its relevance is very marginal.

Having said that, I don't really see the harms of this suggestion and if they're there, they are minimal. Support.

 

If they are going to allow ex-scammers etc back just to keep user numbers up they should have full access to the site, and all its features.

I personally don't agree with letting users back with a DNT, they say its to curve vading and more scamming but whos to say they don't do that anyways. This site has a shitty history of letting people back, just so they can scam again... cough cough plznate cough cough

 

It's just life man. Some people make mistakes and learn from them and some people don't.

I think DNT is a good way to show people you've changed.

 

This is already in pending suggestions. regardless I support this as well. Helps (even if just a little) keep the site active.

 

Support on this, although there have been lots of comments about people messaging staff on discord, I found some of the times when a DNT person messages a staff member they are just ignored. But additionally it keeps a clear record for anyone that may worry about either party deleting messages.

 

Support. I think anyone should be able to contact staff.

 

Support because I agree with @Fit 's arguement.

 

Since between contacting a moderator between sythe and discord plus ive read that many mods just ignore, it would open a door of any kind of scam with fake discord accounts, for which most new people could fall under the clutches of malicious people. SUPPORT.
