Reinstate the backseat moderating rule please.

I'm tired of seeing threads trading auth codes with like 3 people saying "Trading auths not allowed" or "I don't think this is allowed".

By reinstating this rule, the idiots won't post just to get post count up, they'll just report it and move on.

Why was this rule removed in the first place?

Well isn't it counted as spam? They're not contributing anything to the post.

 

I support, everyone (even me) kinda does it. Its a habit, but we should nip it in the bud.

 

They basically are telling the thread creator that they've broken the rules, as a warning so that they can edit their thread and ask a mod to close it. I don't think it's spam if it's put that way. Now, if one person says that it's a broken rule, 20 other people don't need to post saying the same thing; then it counts as spam.

 

+1, agreed with you completely. It's not hurting anyone if you remind thread creator on the rules and i think it's fine until topic gets spammed with it, then it's too much and infractions are in order.

Mods can't be everywhere at the same time, so helping them out (if they want to look at it that way) a little bit isn't gonna hurt anyone.

Backseat Moderating isn't that bad when you think about it. YES it can be annoying BUT it can making the Moderators job a little easier.

 

They took it out of the rules for a reason, it doesn't need to come back.

 

I do this fairly frequently. As long as the person doesnt say "not allowed", or "gtfo", then it is not really spam. I typically word it as such, "_____ is not allowed on Sythe. I recomend deleting your post otherwise you will likely be infracted". I dont feel as if that is spam, especially considering more than half the times, the OP will edit out their post. This saves the mods time, saves the OP an infraction, and everyone wins.

But yeah this is a terrible suggestion. Suf (with help from hahanerd) has already dismissed this terrible idea, So this should be locked to prevent further spam.

 

Though, if another person comes, and basically says the exact same thing, it would create SPAM.
