The blue screen usually happens a few times a day, then the computer will start up again normally after rebooting. Sometimes the computer will beep after attempting to reboot, which is usually solved by just rebooting again. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I'm guessing its a hardware problem

No, this is due to file corruption, and yes, this is of death since you'll need to reformat unless you go get it professionally analysed and repaired.

Get Windows 7, Vista is gay.

I don't know if this will be of any help (fingers crossed it is), but I experienced almost EXACTLY the same problem on my Mac computer. I had taken it in to be repaired multiple times, being told each time it was a software problem, and they would "Fix" it... a while later the problem would just resurface again.
Eventually they managed to source out that it was in fact a problem with my Graphics card, and it had to be replaced - Since then I have not encountered the problem once.

I am aware Vista and Macintosh are completely different running systems, but I'm just wondering if the problem has some kind of relation to mine...

Have you tried getting the most updated drivers for both the graphic card and flashing the bios to the newest version?

Are you on Vista /win7 or XP? I would download driver program and update all drivers, as well as update windows(windows updates) if it hasnt been done or is off.
